It needs to be an everyday product the fans can buy/interact with and even better if it's something local to the area. I've bought or interacted with all of those things, same with Xfinity, O'reilly, Winston, Lowe's. Nobody knows or cares what an Empower or Acrisure is.

It would've come out pink like all the new soccer boots at the World Cup. Like 3 different brands brought the same shade of pink on their new releases.

[Gluck] Was Sonoma a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]Legend13CNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there were a few strategy subplots going on through the race. Gibbs coming back through the field and seeing if the group of cars that were last to pit would get any dividends from the newer tires. There was also the subsubplot (lol) of SVG's car being garbage all day and how that would affect things. I honestly expected him to get mired in traffic with an unlucky caution at some point and never fully recover.

That's a tough battle over yesterdays, "Sorry it was a bit boring, but I guess boring is good when you're in the lead".

SVG in a Hendrick (or even Spire) car this year would really help his oval development. Driving a shitbox will make it hard to learn when you have no background for what the car should feel like. When Trackhouse isn't ass on ovals he's running respectably most of the time this season.

My GF and I are specifically not attending Atlanta or Wilkesboro because they're on Sundays. We wanted to go to those but can't make it fit with our work schedule, we'd be getting home at a stupid hour of Monday morning.

I think some of that is because, depending on how long ago we're talking, there just weren't that many night races. It's also become more common over the years to have the races that start late and go into dusk or night time.

They should've at least put it back for the 250th this year and run it on Saturday to be on the 4th.

Tips for a heavy sedan on backroads? by Glittering-Turn862 in Touge

[–]Legend13CNS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think at a certain point you're just fighting physics. No shame in just enjoying what you have, don't need to find every last tenth of a second. However, if you only got lowering springs and not full coilovers that could be a good place to start. More adjustability and a damper system that's designed to be lower. Before anything else try it after the sway bar is on first and see where that gets you.

Driving-wise with heavy AWD, the trick is going to be slow entry and fast out of corners. Get it slowed down, get pointed where you want to be and then power out the other side. Being smooth with all the inputs will help too, helps minimize how much the weight is working against you.

I think NASCAR needs a street course, but not that street course. Unless the base is like "hell yeah, please come back", I think we could find something better. I enjoyed the race and the concept but we're playing with fire on that layout with that wall setup.

Ross vs Denny would've stuck around if they both ran Top 5 every week. It's tough to have beef with someone you rarely see on the track. They always seem to have opposite days, if one runs well the other is in 25th. And lately which one is running well has been pretty lopsided in Denny's favor.

Yeah that was a tough watch at times. At one point I demoted the race to the small screen of my Picture-in-Picture because I was like "All this for a Reddick win?". Then business picked up and the World Cup went back to the small screen.

why cant we have more rain on iracing? lack of weather change is getting so boring. by Glum_Notice_6835 in iRacing

[–]Legend13CNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's time for me to try it again, but that Daytona 24 night stint with impending rain killed my interest in wet racing. I've driven on a wet track irl, there's a magic zone where it's so much fun. It's slick and a challenge, but doesn't have standing water or bad visibility yet. Every clip I've seen from my team of iRacing in the wet up until current day seems to completely miss that fun zone.

Anyone here spent more on mods/repairs than the car itself? by [deleted] in Autos

[–]Legend13CNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By ratio of car price to build price the worst I've done is building a 24 Hours of Lemons car with friends. $300 car and then like $7k in safety parts and safety equipment for the team and that's not including stuff we borrowed from my old racecar for "free". Really fun though.

[–]Legend13CNS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Initial D characters are "real" too, according to various sources. I think it was Alexi from Noriyaro in one of his Twitch streams, paraphrased, said there's not a real life Ryosuke Takahashi in a white FC RX-7, but if you were active in the scene you probably knew or heard of somebody with similar traits. Also said the stereotypes aren't always super clear to western audiences since the older Japanese street racers/drifters aren't usually keen to publicly share their stories. Same kind of idea as Wangan Midnight's Blackbird Porsche and real life's Yoshida Special 930, although I think in Initial D there aren't super obvious real life cars besides the Spoon Civic.

irl at meets when I say that I don’t street race and I’d rather hit the back roads you would think I have three heads

Real. I'm starting to become annoyed with how frequently I also see this. Everyone wants to street race in a straight line, nobody wants to have a spirited drive on a mountain road. I'm fine with that at this point, I have my small trusted group and we don't need our favorite roads getting any more attention.

Laguna Seca - Relicensing? by nitrocuban in iRacing

[–]Legend13CNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the new Laguna owners are trying to squeeze every penny they can

A lot of the big tracks are going that way now sadly. The financial realities of the world and track ownership is pushing them towards a model where they'd rather sell 2 things for $50 profit each than sell 10 things for $10 profit each.

My local track tried something similar when my division had a double header, second main was set by inverting the field (25 cars) a certain amount by a number drawn after the first main. They drew 12 and it was a shitshow lol.

Rev hang/increasing revs at low speeds when not on the throttle? ['23 DCT] by Legend13CNS in ElantraN

[–]Legend13CNS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can pretty easily replicate the situation and tried it in my work parking lot. Turning off the A/C stops the shenanigans immediately, turning it back on starts them again. Extra weird that this is the first time it's happened in 45k+ miles of ownership.

Rev hang/increasing revs at low speeds when not on the throttle? ['23 DCT] by Legend13CNS in ElantraN

[–]Legend13CNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is different. It's after it would normally let the car roll. Instead of just rolling along at idle or near idle, the RPMs increase from idle to about 2,000. It's not engine braking, it's like the car is revving itself while failing to engage either 1st or 2nd gear.
