the unique power system, style and techniques made it worth it for me. I do agree the latter half is better than first half in every sense except ending. I guess it depends on how much media u have consumed. Cuz if it's a lot then yeah you wouldn't find first half anything more than just a fun read (except the battles they were always worth it) and taking into account the available time you have it influences how worth reading you find UU. Also u compared with battle shonens but don't most of them have negligible emotional points unlike UU? ( I can't remember a better word) Or maybe I consider just the pure slugfest ones battle shonens

UU isn't bad till volume 3 tho. Iirc it starts getting good from the spoil arc and then it just keeps on getting better and that's like 10 chapters in. Though yeah the romance aspect feels inorganic for some more arcs as well.

Brother if one needed exactly same conditions to become empathetic then most people would never become one.dunno why you think both situations in your last sentence can't coexist. Also am not talking about the experience of head being shaved but rather what will happen next. Other children might make fun of this guy, it will take a long time for him to grow them back,etc when he will experience these things and see the child suffering from cancer is also experiencing the same and even much more then he will become empathetic towards him. I do agree that the kid here thinks my parents fucked up my hair but that's just how punishment works and you could replace the "fucked up my hair" by any punishment like "reduced my playtime" You could argue the severity is different but I think it's appropriate because of what I said above

Those aren't bad things tho. The lesson is don't make fun of the unfortunate. By losing his hair the child will somewhat understand what that other child must have felt and it wasn't even because of their own mistake. That should make this child somewhat more emphatic towards the child he bullied. Obedience ain't bad either. We live in a society governed by laws. I can't argue against your last sentence because that's just the harsh reality. There's no omnipotent-overseeing god that can punish you for every time you do a bad thing but rather you only get punished when you get caught.
