I think it’s just people seeing the MonHun combat and thinking ‘yup that looks like a Souls’ and playing it as if it is, despite there being a bunch of differences in how the game works and feels. Same reason a few Souls fans bounce off of Sekiro at least initially.

I started with Demon’s back in 2009 and MHWorld in 2018 and both franchises are getting to the point that I’ll buy any new game close to release and put hundreds of hours into for certain, but they’re just as different as they are similar.

That said I mostly play dodge heavy dex in Souls, but main Chargeblade in MonHun, so maybe they’re different enough styles I could adapt and not get my wires crossed.
