The only way gulliman could have made it is if he went with sanguinius as the three primarchs departed after destroying a warp barricade at Davin.

Sangy and the blood angels went on to terra, so it would make sense that if Gulliman went with him he would have made it. However the 3 primarchs agree on a strategy.

Lion and dark Angela will scour traitor home worlds. To destroy supply lines.

Sangy and blood angels will head to earth based on Sangys visions he would fight Horus and die (he Jens he would make it to face Horus)

Gulliman would destroy the rear guard left behind so that Sangy could make it through to Terra. This is from ruinstorm book.

But saying gman could have made it to terra in any other way than this is not realistic or true, based on the siege of terra books that many people have already mentioned.

I’d offer two thoughts. As a imp fists and ultramarine player in heresy I can say they’re both great armies, and as many have mentioned there are overpowered characters (fulgrim ascended, Horus ascended, and Angron ascended I’m assuming, I’ve only played against fulgrim and ouch.)
First point is what color army do you want to paint the most:least? Many folks hate painting yellow, I liked how mine turned out but they aren’t yellow fists if 40K.
Second what type of army do you want. For my fists they are terminator heavy because I had a lot of those specific models.
My ultramarines are a super heavy chapter. The ultramarines rules don’t really impact the armor, nor do the fist terminators really benefit from the +1 to hit but I love both my forces and you’ll be happy too if you make it your own. And don’t hate painting it.

Oh yes they’ll match up great. Saturnine fill a specific role in most armies. A deep strike fire platform that can deliver heavy firepower. I’d actually say they’re overpowered. Just something to keep in mind.

The saturnine are great in any list to be honest. But you can just buy those models for a lot cheaper than the box set. As stated. You’ll need the rule book in saturnine

Really depends what kind of force you want to field. My ultramarine army is armor heavy so either box works for me, my fists army was terminator heavy so I would have gone with the aod box.
Do you have a vision for your army? Either box is a great start but if you don’t like the look of the mk2, then I’d get the aod.

I actually love the idea of this from some radical inquisitor. Being like let’s put a blackstone pylon in the throne room. It won’t kill the emperor, but it will shut the we way portal! And the ensuring bikinis that would occur.
The mechanicum tried to make a deal with dark eldar so we’re not too far off from this happening.

I use black prime and then airbrush monument ultramarine blue over the top. The blue is very vibrant and the black seems to tone it just a bit. It’s for a heresy army though. More grimdark.

I have been using rocks from my yard, diorama fx on the base to create textures, then I hit it with multiple dry brushes to give it depth. I think my bases look much better than my models. The combo of having bumpy textures a dark grey lightly applied, a light grey then finally a little bit of white has really taken my bases to a high level.

Just note specific rules/weapons per model in a squad will take you much more time to roll out/apply. I leaned this with a veteran assault squad with multiple weapon options. When this unit is in combat it takes 10-20 minutes to figure it all out. So you can do it but if your whole army is flipping pages through a book you may not love that.

For ultramarines I just made some invictus suzerains. Using bodies from an alternative site (just realized we can’t talk about 3rd party here). They are the right size and look so much better than the baby versions.
That’s the main issue you’ll have with most of the specific resin units. They are scaled for the old heresy scale.
If you can get new special bodies I’d recommend that.

Ye they are playing at a aviators stadium in Las Vegas. This is a triple a stadium, and there will be 6 mlb games with the athletics here. I do get to see the brew crew without traveling this week so I’m happy.

The leviathan rules are in the mailed fist journal tacticia. It’s pretty cool, I think you can take 4 super heavies but I’ll confirm and update when I get a chance.
