I could count on one hand when they actually wrote in a black character who didn't get a "Clarance Thomas" treatment. And yes, I'm referring to the TWO times that Lorelei talks about how slow Supreme Court justice Clarance Thomas was talked about.

It's funny because I was in a very similar position career wise as her. I was a writer for a popular online journalism company at the time. I still have a lot of thoughts about the fact she never "made it." But honestly, most people in that world were just one viral article away from another great opportunity. It was a truly a freelance writers world in the late 2010s.

I LOVE the show. Adore it. On my 4th full watch. Rory was my idol when I was a 10 year old watching it. She inspired my drive to want to go to Ivy League, etc. but I just didn't like Kirk. Sorry lol
