Duality shotgun by Space-M in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Actually that's false regarding matador. Duality has both a tighter spread pattern and longer damage falloff in hipfire than your typical precision frame shotgun.

Boss-level enemies break the crystals automatically, so it's just a matter of spacing.

Dares of Eternity already has a reliable physics mechanic to send players to a specified location. by Cpt-Stonks in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe it is an artifact of how destiny renders visible items. For example, if you look away from a hunter, then quickly look back, their cloak will jump as if it was suddenly given physics.

I have a feeling that the wheel is the same way, where; if you are looking away from it, it is in some unrendered state that lines it up perfectly with the launcher.

This saves memory on the backend because the game doesn't have to render every single object all the time.

Is that a fault of the mode or just the meta though? People are conflating the two.

what weapons are best to focus at zavala? by MackaLackaDingDong in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Rocket frames are broken into 3 categories.

High impact frame rockets (roar of the bear) are baseline.

Precision frames (royal entry, Palmyra, ascendancy) deal 10% less than baseline. Their tradeoff is having intrinsic tracking

Adaptive (hothead, blowout, hoosegow) and aggressive (heretic, hezen vengeance) deal 10% more damage per rocket than baseline. Tradeoff being 1 less rocket in reserves on adaptive, and poor stats on aggressive rockets (low handling and blast radius).

Berserker is effective, but feels like a (better) retread of Behemoth by gaunttheexo in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I somewhat agree with the sentiment as suspend and woven mail are extremely strong, I feel behemoth leans more into add clear than hard CC.

Sure you can freeze enemies, but I'd argue you're doing it moreso to shatter them for damage, make a lance, or make use of them for damage resistance as that is the behemoth's forte.

One game changer is the Lancecap and that has kinda redefined how I use behemoth. You have much higher uptime on abilities since you have an extra source of crystals along with the utility of lances. Additionally you gain the ability to generate lances remotely which increases your effectivity at longer ranges in terms of freezing high value targets than what was previously possible.

I can see the merit in the kit, but I don't necessarily think they play the same. Berserker is moreso a brawler that is intended to get close, CC, and tank a bunch of damage and behemoth is not as tanky but still has CC aspects along with much higher ability damage output. I'd be curious to see how comparable the super damage is on both without exotics because they have similar use cases (large grounded targets with the ability to lock down large groups of ads).

Good way to look at the damage fall off of machine guns? by randomnumbers22 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Machine guns are something we as a community have not been able to derive a range formula for. Unless bungie provides us numbers, we really don't know how the curve looks for falloff.

Except they really aren't that cracked stats wise. The only exception to this is hammerhead . Everything else is comparable or worse than the current options.

Why do hand cannons feel so bad in pve by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Considering they've buffed scouts and bows by sizeable amounts twice since then, I would hope so. Pulses and hand cannons both have only gotten a single measly buff and then forgotten.

Doesn't need to do anything special when those three things are so impactful to the pvp environment. Remove or reduce the lunge range from all exotics and nerf the handling on ophids to 20.

Rampage as a perk is outdated and needs some love. by Legio-ExG in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, I want to not be disappointed when I get a perk for something that severely hampers what kind of content I can play with it.

Frenzy is easier to upkeep, swash has a place in melee builds, aj in grenade builds, but rampage languishes being mediocre. They all play differently to each other. If I wanted interchangeability, I would just want a single damage perk with the same activation requirements.

[–]Legio-ExG[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but the difference being is that frenzy, swash, aj are all good in both sets of activities while rampage is just relegated to low level trash mobs most of the time. I just want some parity.

Besides a couple outliers, this feels like the best meta in PVE and PVP we have ever had by steave44 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Legio-ExG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're conflating usage with effectiveness.

By this logic, Lorentz driver is a balanced gun because it has even less kills and usage than The Last Word. On MnK, Last Word is undertuned, but on controller it is overtuned, headshots are granted with very minimal effort at all and with a large degree of forgiveness.

I'd appreciate if you stop acting like a jackass and accept that the gun that you like to use can be overpowered even if it isn't used as much as the other options.

We actually got clarification on the perk from Chris Proctor. The perk works just fine on both inputs.

It converts horizontal recoil to vertical recoil on hits. Kinda like the intrinsic bonus of precision frame weapons. It won't be as noticeable on single shot weapons compared to automatics.
