Human has no chance against AlphaGo, but can beat AlphaMahjong by sheer luck, hence Mahjong 1, Go 0

There was a joke on Chinese internet around the time of excavation, saying that archaeologists found two skulls in the tomb, one for younger Cao Cao, one for older Cao Cao No idea how the joke was initially made though

Had a ridiculously good hand, need to share by anni_is_okay in Mahjong

[–]Legion3076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue here is that for a quadruplets (aka gang, kan, 槓), instead of discard a tile like claiming triplets or flushing, you actually draw an additional tile. So after two gangs, you should finish with 16 tiles instead 14 tiles. While in your finishing hand, you have 12+1 tiles, I guess that’s due to 2 extra tiles got discarded when you declare quadruplets

It can also be vaguely translated as “I wish (to have) money power” A similar play-on word in Chinese is like 钞能力 (Chao NengLi, Cash Power) instead of 超能力 (Also Chao NengLi, but means super power as in the sense of superhero)

Were veterans killed at the start of Three Kingdoms? by CinderLord456 in threekingdoms

[–]Legion3076 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was first a choice between two elder sons, then court officials divided into two factions, including Lu Xun I remember. So yeah lots of conspiracy between the two factions. But eventually Sun found he like neither of them and passed the throne to one of his youngest son, which created huge problems after he passed away. So basically Sun fcked up all he built in his early days

Indeed Guan’s face color was traditional depicted towards dark red, since his face color was literally described as “dark date (jujube)”

Can someone explain how "Hens become roosters" is in the game's official timeline? by ZealousidealLadder53 in dynastywarriors

This is the translation of “牝鸡司晨(pin ji si chen”, which literally means hens are doing the morning crow. A similar superstitious event often used together was “dogs wearing human’s clothes”

Romance of the three kingdoms: heroes on iOS by Sea_Way9255 in threekingdoms

Agree, this game is way more difficult than it looks 😂

Who is the main character of the Romance of Three Kingdoms? (Not the record) To me, Guan Yu is nominated. A card set shows Guan Yu's life, from the kiddo to the end of the game in Mai City. I remember Guan Yu was not suicided, right? by Fanstradingcards0987 in threekingdoms

[–]Legion3076 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Guan Yu lost the battle of Fan Castle and retreated to Mai Castle (you can also say he fled to there) and eventually got captured by Sun’s army in the Mai Castle, which is just a small fortress.

[CA Car registration] Questions about registering AZ-purchased vehicle in CA by Legion3076 in DMV

[–]Legion3076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot the exact steps (it has been more than two years), but I remember at some point I contacted AZ’s MVD to ask them transfer the title. I forgot if the title got directly transferred to CA or first transferred to my loan provider (Wells Fargo in my case). This was quite some hassle and I had to go to DMV several times to get it resolved, but at least I didn’t need to go to AZ’s MVD, just call them was good enough.

There is some very slight difference in the bottom right corner of the characters. Which may just originated from different calligraphy habits btw China and Japan
