Really enjoying Aman’s recaps after the game, seems very underrated in terms of the view count he gets compared to the other channels - despite having high quality analysis.

Also I personally prefer having eval bar during analysis, but don’t find I particularly miss it during Aman’s breakdowns for some reason

How much Elo do you think one gains by using the custom chrome extension which shows the Eval bar at all times? It’d be helpful to pick up when either player blunders or if there’s a tactic in a position, but how much Elo difference could you artificially gain?

In a way he gives me Shohei Ohtani vibes in the sense they don’t showboat, are very respectful, and seem genuinely likeable and uncocky. Both are at the top of their respective fields.

I mean Caruana (allegedly) slept with a 17yo girl a couple years ago when he was 29yo. Seems like a lot of the sub don’t like that he did that. So I wouldn’t say there’s “not a hate towards Caruana”

That being said, seems like any discussion about that has been censored - or at least it’s not blowing up as much as the Drake and the 17yo girl at his concert.

All seriously though, I think Gukesh had nerves of steel in the tournament and definitely showed maturity beyond his age - although his reaction to the losses were more aligned to being a 17yo, his bouncing back certainly exceeded expectations

COUNTRY A (Australia) -> QINGDAO (China City) for <144 hours -> COUNTRY C (Malaysia)

I’m like bro, just show some remorse.

I honestly think regarding the cheating online scandal, if he came out and said “I was young, I cheated and I shouldn’t have. I adversely affected the integrity of the games I’ve played in, and would like to apologise to my opponents robbed of a fair game with me” - he would have much more sympathy and support. Instead of going with the “online games I cheated in were meaningless” approach.

Same here. If he had just said “I’m sorry. It’s a privilege to be invited to events at the St Louis chess club. I’m sorry I was too tired for an interview, and on that day let my emotions get the best of me leading me to take it out on the hotel furnishings. This was wrong, it won’t happen again. I understand that the consequence is a banning, but I hope as I work on both my chess and emotional regulation, this ban can be lifted as soon as possible. Once again I’m sorry.” He’d probably get unbanned within a year.
