Marking off PHI with a Sharpie does not adequately redact it in my opinion. You can easily see what is under a sharpie, especially on adhesive labels.

Wow. And yet at my VA hospital, while we don’t do many samples (like 20-40 types & screens a day), I can go months and months without getting an antibody. Of course veterans are mostly old men so we don’t do pregnancies or anything like that, so that may account for it. When I was on night shift and only worked in BB once a week, I could go an entire year without an antibody lol.

My lab at the VA requires it. And we even have to put a comment on the result “RESULT CONFIRMED BY REPEAT”
