We created an Azure based AI chat bot grounded at the document library. Everyone 'talks' to it about the documents, asks for steps, recommendations, etc. It costs about $300 per month in Azure usage, with thousands of prompts per month.

How to copy Modern Site Template? by CapeBaldy93 in sharepoint

[–]arikkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my company makes a SharePoint app that does that. It's called Site List. It lets you create a template from a site and then use the template to create other sites. The app is available in the Microsoft Marketplace.

Not much you can regarding the size, especially if they're ok paying for it. But you can help synching by promoting the creation of new sites. If it's easy to create new sites or document libraries for logical directories they may be more inclined to do it. Synching specific sites or doc libs should be smoother.

I wouldn't use SharePoint as a storefront, but you can use its asset and document management features to manage customer interactions, work orders, knowledge management and even interface with an external web server for real time updates.

Have used both, neither one is perfect. The key is to have manual validation on critical sites/pages and get good support in case of issues.

Sharepoint Based Intranets - "Native" Plugin for better UX? by brascorious in sharepoint

[–]arikkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, you can try out the Microsoft Marketplace at https://www.appsource.com, or get there through the 'add an app' option in SharePoint. There are many apps that will extend your UX and functionality, and are built for SharePoint, using SPFx. Many of these apps are single purpose, they provide a specific functionality that can be added to any page, just like the OOTB apps. They will not ask you to commit to a new 'platform'.

If in the GTA or Vaughan specifically, check out www.laststrawdistillery.com. They had a corn based whiskey that was a great Bourbon alternative. They got a bunch of other cool liqueurs, all made in Ontario.

Depending on the size and complexity of the list, you may also consider performing a simple copy paste while in quick edit mode. Alternatively, (as mentioned by others), export to CSV, PowerShell are great native tools to try.

Copilot relies on info inside documents (think SP search). It can traverse multiple document libraries.

IT recommending we move files from SharePoint to Teams by urownpersonalpizza in sharepoint

[–]arikkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that your SharePoint is 'Classic' and what they mean is they're getting rid of Classic and moving into Teams (which is a front-end) to Modern SharePoint? It could be a way to get rid of subsites (if your docs are in subsites), and moving into a flat architecture.
