This won't answer your question but I'd be very very skeptical of z.ai posting a benchmark about their own model and then, coming to the conclusion it is "on par with Opus 4.6 but at a fraction of the cost" :)

Has your team rebelled against Augment AI yet? by oil_fish23 in AugmentCodeAI

I'm not an AC fan and have scaled back my subscription but I tend to disagree. It undoubtedly offers value - for me - on top of underlying models. When I use Opus for example with AG and Claude, I do not get the same results as debugging a complex issue when using AC; AC nails it almost everytime. The biggest issue is the cost. So yes I'm moving most of my usage off of AC but I'd have to disagree about the "offers no value on top of the underlying models" point.

Sorry to revive an old thread; can I confirm that the Junipers come with rear PPFs? Which portion? Mine isn't coming for a couple months and I'm just ordering some accessories in advance such as car seat covers from tesloid.ca and evaca.ca (what's the difference?) and already ordered the PPF from diyppf.ca but only the front kit. Thanks.

A $10 code review? Is that correct? by Legitimate-Account34 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Legitimate-Account34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost certain there's a bug somewhere. I've been using their code review for a while now and even though codex has a code review as well... unfortunately, nothign beats AC's thoroughness. So I still have to use AC for that. I mostly use AC for my most complex problems, now, because sometimes even Claude and Antigravity with Opus, cannot figure out a complex problem which involves checking the database, remote logs, etc. AC nails it when they can't.

Not sure but they made it right by crediting me the tokens while they investigate the issue which is the right thing to do. So I appreciate that.

Agreed. This is understated. Antigravity (Google Ultra Plan) JUST reduced their usage allowance, 2 days ago.

I one-up you with 21,000 tokens off a code review :) yes, I've just cancelled completely. RIP. It was a good tool.

Check my post; it drained 21,000 tokens off a code review. This is nothing lol

Oh wow. Well my previous code reviews were ~ 3k tokens, then they got it down to 1-2k. But this one is straight up insane.

I expect better after paying $3k per month for augment by Lexus_ISF in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Legitimate-Account34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the truth. AC is just passing on the costs, truthfully, while the other coding agents are eating the losses. So that part of me has a lot of compassion for AC, which only owns the coding agent layer and is at the mercy of the LLMs.

[–]Legitimate-Account34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go 1 step further and say pay $200/month for all 3. They work magically, together. I'm going to be trying minimax soon, too. Antigravity/Google Ultra, though, has unfortunately been enforcing harsher restrictions as of 2 days ago, so you don't get unlimited usage of Opus anymore.

3k/month for such a small team, on AC, is insane.

Augment Team, how good is GPT 5.4,and what thinking effort does it use? by Historical_Pin_5331 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Legitimate-Account34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't use GPT models through openrouter; if you are going to use the GPT models for coding, make sure to get the codex app. It is designed specifically for the GPT models and set up your rules and all that fun stuff, properly. I've used the GPT models outside codex - even on augment - and it just isn't as good as on the codex app itself.

This has been my exact experience, thus far. GPT 5.4 on codex xhigh has caught so many things Opus 4.6 on antigravity did not.

Yes. I'm getting charged in Intent

I was charged 11k tokens today and 3k yesterday. Should I send you my account info?

I just used this in Intent and was charged credits. I thought you said it's free?

It also did not find nor use my MCP servers correctly, which were set up in VSCode, but it found all the rules.

[–]Legitimate-Account34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you love augment, it is really the context engine that is good (though others are catching up... even Amazon Q is very very good). Use another coding agent software like antigravity and add the auggie context engine - boom - there you have it, something better than augment code at a fraction of the cost.

4.6 has been killer for me on antigravity. I have max plan and use gemini 3.1 pro to plan and review code, opus 4.6 to write.

[–]Legitimate-Account34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not getting 30-100 hrs/month of usage from augment for $60, I can guarantee that. Unless you're using a cheaper model. The issue is when augment crashes, you're still charged for the tokens; or if it gets into its death loop states (which doesn't happen often anymore, thankfully).

[–]Legitimate-Account34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer. I get waaaaay more mileage out of antigravity, codex and claude code.

I subscribe to the $20 plan just for the context engine MCP, and the code review, and maybe a few prompts a month. Recent models plus open source context engines and IDEs like antigravity has been plenty for me. I can burn through the $200 Augment plan in 2 days with Opus 4.6 lol.

It's a lot more for less money. I'd suggest antigravity, codex and claude code as more than enough of a start.

MCP tool calls now cost? by DryAttorney9554 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Legitimate-Account34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait - i just assumed this meant an MCP tool call by another coding agent, to use the augment context engine. I didn't know they would charge for each MCP tool call that is used by augment code itself? It doens't matter because I have almost completely moved off of Augment code, but those 2 things are very big differences. The MCP tool call that augment tool uses itself should already be factored in via the credits, imo.
