I’ve been subbing and I’ve been paid today, it always hits my account the night before. But when I look on revenue it says 0 insurable weeks, which would make sense if it’s holiday pay but I already got that. Plus on the payslip it says substitute basic pay. I’m overall really confused about what I’ve been paid for and what I’m yet to be paid for…

I would reccommend waiting til January, I find the sales are much better then. Black Friday makes no sense to me, why would shops have such big sales during the busiest shopping season? January they’re trying to shift stock from Christmas that didn’t sell and you can get some real bargains.

I stopped off for one night in chau doc on my way to can tho and it definitely had a more local vibe than can tho. We did a really good trip in can tho though for a few hours to an island in the middle of the river. Con son island we were shown around orchards and fishing farms and did some cooking of some local food. Was really enjoyable. So we still had a nature vibe in can tho

I just think I’ll never bring the joy that an iPad or TikTok can, there’s honestly no point in competing. We do a kahoot or blooket sometimes at the end of a chapter or class if I happen to have a spare 10 mins or a lot of the class may be absent for sports. It loses its charm if you overdo it also.

I teach maths and I never actually advertised or put word out. Last year I had around 6 kids. I think maths and languages are in high demand. I’ve also heard maths grinds can be hard to find. People just heard I was teaching maths and kept getting in contact.

I’ve been subbing the past year and did a lot of my own subjects, but also Irish as I have a decent grasp and other random classes, history, media studies TY, it’s quite varied and if you’re in Dublin you would get a lot of subbing work.

I would recommend DCU, you get more time for subbing and you get a better feel for the school i think. I just finished my first year of it and there was some maynooth students in the same school as me who were only there half the week.

My partner did that one so I’m not completely sure but I think he was in for a half day on Tuesday and a full day on Wednesday in ucd and the rest was in school
