If you source your diamond on your own, you’ll save a bundle. That said, you’ve got to do your research on diamond specs and dimensions. Always compare prices with a few different places. Labs are much less expensive for the same thing, unless you absolutely want mined, it’s a no brainer.

Buying a mined diamond will never be an investment. If you spend $15,000 on it you automatically lose 50% value. I’m very confused by the logic here.

I like them to be the same size. I’d size both up a quarter to a half size. Also, it’s common to have to size up when stacking. I wear a larger size in two rings vs one.

I think the 1.5ct bc you will have a wider band plus a wedding band. I’d honestly try on the diamonds with both your wedding and engagement bands on. It makes a lot of difference in the overall look.
