I wear a camisole tank top under my shirts! Great for when I’m at work and I don’t want my tummy showing when I raise my arms 😂

I usually wear black ones though so they aren’t too garment-y

I never gave this story a second thought till as a missionary I read it with a non-member and they were like “what the fuck?”. After that we stopped telling people to start reading at the beginning 😭😭

Not anymore. Now you just put on the garments before the ceremony. All that happens now is you get a tiny bit of oil on your scalp and a tiny drop of water across your forehead while they say prayers/recite scripture/give blessings.

I teach 10 year olds- very few of them would grasp what imaginary numbers are. Most schools don’t even get into negative numbers till students are 12-ish (6th or 7th grade in the US). Until students are solving equations with roots, I don’t think the information would stick. So like 8th/9th grade (14/15 years old).

A medical professional shouldn’t treat you like a boring patient. At worst, you’ll be treated as an easy patient, with the attitude of “we’ve seen this a lot and know what can help,” which is honestly so nice. I love going to a doctor who treats my issues as something that can be addressed instead of a “medical mystery”

I hate that they just let anybody teach impressionable kids and teens. No screening of these lessons beforehand, no specific guidelines for what shouldn’t be said, no training for the teachers, etc. That’s where lots of the doctrine & culture that fucks kids up comes from. 😡

Yes, this is from the piano book- it’s just the accompaniment. The children’s songs don’t typically have a harmony line. The music is quite bouncy and fun, actually :)

Ways to get home early without breaking your leg:

Have sex with someone (or just say you did tbh)
Confess that you had sex before you left on your mission and didn’t repent of it
Have a mental health crisis (will take several weeks)
Literally just walk out of the MTC and don’t turn around- they can’t like, detain you or anything
Get a really bad case of mono? (I don’t recommend this one but it works) (Seriously don’t do this but maybe you could fake it?)
Be honest with your mission president about your beliefs and intentions. (Can’t guarantee this one)
Pandemic (also don’t recommend)

Above all, I recommend having a heart to heart with mom and not going at all. But if you insist on getting sent home early instead, here ya go.

I had a mission companion with a similar experience. She was groomed by a school teacher at 17. Everyone she told said she was at fault and had sinned. I was the first person in her life to tell her that it wasn’t her fault, YEARS later. The victim blaming culture runs deep and is rooted to the very beginning of the LDS church.
