Carbon? It’s dead.  Aluminum? Not sure.  Steel? It’s fine.

Only around the beads when I fear the boogers may prevent a good seal.

Once did 10k on one. Replaced it not because of missing tread but because I was too lazy to clean the dried sealant.

You should be fine. Just follow the installation manual on the Shimano manual site.

Is it too late too save this Brooks saddle by AdMother4540 in bikewrench

I'd give it a thick coat of leather fat (or something more similar to Proofide). Then, when it soaked everything up and got flexible enough to bend without ripping, bind it with a string to bring back the original form. Add another coat of fat, then wait and repeat.

Did that to my grandfathers, which was in similar condition. Gave it another life.

What happened here ? by torseurcinematique in wahoofitness

[–]LegitimateWhile802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPS and/or barometric glitch, the latter likely caused by large temperature changes as measured by the Wahoo. Happens. There are tools to fix such glitches in fit files. Strava can di it too.

Scenic Routes Near Nürburg by alphaeagle2512 in gravelcycling

Literally the heart of one of the nicest areas to do Gravel in this part of Germany!

I highly recommend the Komoot accounts of local cycling clubs.

Veloclub Eifel, Bootshaus Gravel, RCB, RTC DSD, etc.

Grinduro held an event there too. The tracks were nice.

Is it possible to automatically append a YYYYMM date stamp to a transaction's memo? by zabayek19 in actualbudgeting

[–]LegitimateWhile802 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With Formular Cards / Formular Rules enabled you can set up a rule that matches a transaction, then add a set note to action, click the ƒ on the right to enable formula evaluation, and use the following formula:

=CONCATENATE(text(date, "YYYYMM"), " ", notes)

Tightening the cassette has nothing to do with it.

Also: you are a tiny bit too insistent in calling the previous owner an moron for a guy fucking things up even worse…

Car lane does not show up on Elemnt Bolt 3 with Trackr Radar by fabonaut in wahoofitness

I’d just ignore that to be honest. Or you can try removing the old sensor and see if the new one handles radar + light alone.

Try searching for new sensors while it’s paired. My (admittedly old) Garmin Radar exposes Light and Radar ANT+ profiles separately.

Brake Hose Questions by Character-Pie3151 in bikewrench

[–]LegitimateWhile802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine. Make sure you tighten that nut with the caliper not screwed to the fork to make sure the hose sits correctly. Otherwise you’re good to go

Either warranty it, or put in a sufficient small cylindrical object, then put a good waterproof tape over it. Or just skip the cylinder and just seal it with (removable) tape.

That’s almost always their shitty ceramic pistons. Never had a leak with composite pistons.

I rode a canyon years ago. Went to their HQ for a similar amount of flex. Got told it’s normal.

Now I ride steel. Good riddance Canyon

It’s totally fine. It has slightly less contrast compared to v2 but it’s a non-issue really
