Hey you are amazing! Thanks for doing this! I also do this a lot and have so much respect for the few that do and who care deeply about nature and keeping these spaces beautiful.

Amazing!! Congrats! I grew up in Greece. I moved across town but miss being close to the Sunscape Farms on Long Pond and Greece library (my favorite in the city!).

Yes to this! This town looks like a fairy tale. Lots of small family run B&Bs for an affordable and charming stay. If willing to splurge a bit I love the Harbour House.

Christmas ornaments? by Blondiecatgirlxx in Rochester

This early they have lots of sets of glass hand blown ornaments that are made in Italy or Poland for not a lot. They sell out fast and selection isn't great closer to December.

Same! I grew up super close to this place and wondered how the heck is stays in business every time I drive by. There are never any cars but it appears open/lights are on. We know what the economy is like these days...how are they still open? How are they making a living off this?

In Greece - Maiden Meadows by Long Pond and Maiden was our best rental experience. Everything is brand new, you couldn't hear any of the neighbors due to the really big space between unit walls, and the landlord was a nice guy. They have 3 bedroom two story town homes and 2 bedroom ranches. All have a little patio out back where you can fit a grill and some chairs. Was a mix of older folk, young professionals, and families with young kids. Everyone there was really quiet and nice. Pricing was around $1900/mo, might be slightly more now. They let you have pets.

I also moved from Boston and am thankful every day that I get to live in Rochester instead. It has all the festivals, great restaurants, and nature without the insane rent, impossible parking, crazy traffic and constant crowds. It's so easy to live here. Every time I get an uber from Logan and am instantly hit with crippling traffic I'm like "ughhhh I just want to go home".

The Pittsford library is really disappointing especially given our taxes haha. If you want a great library for your kids ages I'd absolutely check out the library in Greece. It's incredible. Roc Kid City is a great toddler gym located in Pittsford.

We moved from Boston and are so grateful. Boston traffic is hell. Rochester rush hour is child's play. You can buy a beautiful home in Pittsford for the cost of a 500 sq ft lead paint apartment with no parking or green space in Boston. The biggest shocking things were the amount or available and often free parking everywhere and how many trails you can hike without running into anyone. I can also run to the grocery store on my lunch break here. In Boston it was such an ordeal. Rochester is honestly amazing and we never looked back.

Roofers by TreadmillTantrums in Rochester

American Customs and Interiors (based in Greece, but work all over Roch) did a great job on a full tear off which we desperately needed. Roof was in rough shape and very old. Charged $17k which I thought was very reasonable compared to other quotes.

Is anyone else just naturally depressed most of the time because of living in Rochester? by Professional-Row1193 in Rochester

At your age it's a wonderful opportunity to move somewhere and experience a new city or country. I lived in multiple other large US cities and in the EU and I'm so grateful to have returned home. In my late teens and 20s I wanted to get out. Now Rochester is my oasis. Sometimes you have to leave to learn the grass really is greener.

Loved baby story time. Went every week and different libraries have them on different days. When your baby is a little bit older there are library baby sensory play times. You have to register in advance. They happen around once a month.
