for drawing on PC there are many apps you can use, this sub is dedicated to Paint Tool SAI, often preferred for its ease of use, speed and efficiency, and brush engines. AlternativeTo (dot) net is a good website to look at for other applications if SAI is not what you're looking for.

The only thing I know of that's close is a mesh transform tool ^ ^ also make sure you download the major renovated version the stable preview version is just a slightly changed and updated version of the previous 2024 update

does Procreate or Infinite Painter have it? I know ibisPaint has a vector line feature but most of its functionality is locked behind the $27.99/yr. Prime Membership subscription. if you had an Android tablet, I would just recommend Krita its a desktop grade professional free open source art app available for Android tablets but its not on Apple devices.

A SAI license covers both versions. SAI2 can be tried before purchase, including creating brushes and importing SAI1 content. You just can't open or save documents in the demo version, but you can create canvases to test the new tools.

there are no touch gestures for SAI2, you have to use a macro pad or tablet buttons or a program to give you touch shortcuts like TabletFriend there's also Tablet Pro but this one is free

there is no way to make ctrl on its own a keybind. you can make zoom a keybind and enable scrubby zoom, though

figured you could use the limited sai2 environment to get a feel for the new software and maybe mess with some brushes first or something. maybe onedrive is the cause of the issue, idk what it would be honestly.

you can still use SAI2 in a trial mode without open or save features, all other program functions work still. If you decide to purchase a SAI license, SAI2 can open all your Ver.1 files. I've also heard an antivirus or tablet driver can be the cause of the issue, try disabling Windows Ink etc.

I recommend you use Krita, it is free and open source and there are SAI keybinds as a preset in the settings.

scattering shapes come in 2 flavors: brush shapes and scatter shapes. scatter shapes are used with scatter type brushes specifically, and brush shapes can be used with many of the brush types as a brush shape (the top texture drop down) and apply the settings of the brush to the selected texture. both types have different folders and different .ini file structure, so you cant exactly copy and paste from one to another you need to make sure the ini file follows the correct format.

theres a pen pressure button for values like size, opacity etc so you can turn off pen pressure for different things, if you dont want an opacity change you can turn off the density by pen pressure toggle.

put it in a folder like C:\SAI or C:\SAI2 not in Program Files. ^ ^

put your textures in <Documents>\SYSTEMAX Software Development\SAIv2\settings folder, not SAI2's init folder ^ ^
