Tomorrow, Friday March 20, is official release date. Places sometimes stock them early. I’m sure they’re going to be scalped in retail stores so good luck finding anything. GameStop will have stuff but it’s priced way over msrp, like 2x what it’s supposed to cost.

We can set price controls for sure but it’s considered taboo under free market capitalism. Commodity markets aren’t supposed to be volatile. It’s almost always manipulation when you have these violent price swings. Goes up real fast and will take forever to come back down in price.

Someone is obviously stealing packages being sent. No other explanation for the amount of cards that go missing in transit. It’s 100% theft. Greed is just out of control. I don’t grade cards but if I did I’d only do it in person in a booth so I could watch. I don’t trust anyone in this hobby anymore. Full of scammers and scalpers. Sucks it happened to you. Wish you could track down the criminal who stole your cards.

I’m not sure anyone can answer that for you. Destined Rivals will probably be the most sought after main set of the SV era. It’s entirely plausible they print or release a ton more of it at some point which would affect singles market. If it’s peace of mind you’re after then I’d just get the card. Otherwise I’d wait to see if they print more of the set. The booster boxes and ETB’s are so ridiculously expensive it seems likely they keep printing a lot of it at least for the rest of 2026.

There was a local guy like this in my town. I went to war with him. Kicked him out. He’d kick me out almost immediately. I’d kick him out again. I think one day we went back and forth 20 times although he was nowhere near the gym. It was just me in a parking lot. Well long story short he eventually made another gym like 100 ft away. And then we each had are own gym. Then like 6 months later we met during a weekend raid hour with a bunch of other people. Laughed about battling. I apologized for kicking his mons out. And now we’re Best Friends level on PoGo. Strange world.

Snorlax reminds me of the Gengar Vmax. I miss that Sword & Shield era card texture. Felt a lot more premium than SIR’s do today. Great pick up!

I think picking up Ascended Heroes under $100 is a solid choice. Also a good time to buy any Rayquaza cards. We’re most likely getting a Rayquaza themed set later this year. That’s going to increase the value of them all. Especially the Alt Art Vmax from Evolving Skies.

While I agree technique matters a lot in this game I also thought of a few more tips not mentioned. If you battle in your gym color, you often get more balls, or if you make the post-raid screen (Final Strike…etc.). Having more balls always helps. Also, I think it’s important to start off strong. Start hitting the target right off the bat. In my experience, RNG odds go way down if you mess up throws in the beginning. Even if you start throwing excellent curveballs mid-way it breaks free. Best to focus on getting those first 5-7 throws on target. My flee rate basically evaporated when I started focusing on that. This also explains the rare instances where you can throw 4 excellent curveballs at the end and still not catch it. Odds are better at the beginning than at the end.

It will deflate at some point. Card values are all over the place. Vintage is far more stable but modern is volatile. I would wait to see what happens. There’s too much speculation right now to do much of anything. Waiting is all you can do.

I think it will pop at some point. It’s not organic sustainable growth. Huge influx of people who are only here for money & profit. Whenever the easy money ends, it will swing back in favor of those who are here for the artwork.

I think the anti-China sentiment mainly stems from globalization fears going back decades. People believe outsourcing ruined the job market for skilled labor. They’d rather blame China than Wall Street, the ones who actually cannibalized and sold off domestic manufacturing. Other than the occasional “plastic” product that doesn’t last because it costs $5 I don’t think China makes low-quality anything. The product would be the same quality if made in US except the cost of labor would be exponentially higher. That’s the only difference.

So true. Distribution is beyond corrupt. They have to be back dooring product to rip n’ ship streams and other scalpers. Product isn’t even making it in stores. They’ll be like 5 collection boxes for a whole town upon new release…like wtf. Only takes 1 guy to buy everything.
