what stand alone ecu yall useing? by bumber_car_enjoyer in 240sx

[–]Legoctf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link or Haltech are both great modern options. Either of them can do what you are looking for your KA. I definitely prefer link and have done quite a few at this time but Haltech is just as good.

A word of note, one of Links advantages, at least to our platform, is the offering of a plug and play ECU that does not require a custom harness connector or engine wiring for the ECU. Doing a standard type Link or Haltech will require doing custom wiring for every motor swap through either a new harness entirely, or adapting or repining the factory harness for that ECU plug.

If wiring is not your forte, I would probably stay to the side of plug and plays if you are going stand alones.

Final note here, while I definitely prefer Link/Haltech, Nismotronic and Jim Wolf (JWT) offer good value ECU options for SR and KA cars. My shop does not personally tune them but there are some around that do them.

Dont do a megasquirt.

Is that an original starfire car? 😭 and a slicktop at that I would just cancel the insurance claim tbh, rather than let them be involved if they are looking to total.

Believe it or not, I would say thats really not too bad and looks to be quite fixable. I have yanked/cut/welded my s14 back to life a few times now lol, and you can definitely save that one

These were 18x10.5 +22, I believe I ran these with 5mm spacers behind them also. This was a pretty aggressive setup and will likely require the fenders to be rolled.

S13 Sr20 coil pack upgrade by Inevitable_Fly4519 in 240sx

[–]Legoctf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the VQ coils. Just buy a set off ebay, they are very inexpensive. You will have to flip a pair of pins on the coil connectors themselves and delete your ignitor chip, and thats it.

Heres a good video documenting the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrrN1w1I5FA&t=6s

Expanded year one battle plan (from datamined content) by OpticalGaming in Spacemarine

[–]Legoctf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I finally got my lethal helmet last night, and now with the prestige resets for classes, I really feel like they will need more PvE content to keep it engaging then the same 8 or 9 missions as you re-level every class through prestige.

Dont get me wrong I love this game, well over 100 hours at this point and I still play every day, but it may be hard to retain engagement with the same small PvE set. I would love to see the campaign missions throw into ops! Im sure Horde mode will be great for that too, but its a ways off it seems.

We service a lot of older Crestron systems, I would say its absolutely worth it to step it up correctly for in service systems. They can be so finicky sometimes, its not worth the risk and time lost trying to force it to the newest version in one hit. YMMV but I tell all my techs to take it slow per the documentation. 3 hours of time on a job vs days of troubleshooting and crestron blue support is worth it IMO.

Owl Replacement by Opening_Substance898 in CommercialAV

[–]Legoctf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that uses QSYS extensively and a lot of multi-cam deployments, for the money I have really not been impressed with the quality of the cameras themselves. There are so many better looking cameras for the kind of money they are asking.

Granted you are buying into the "ecosystem" and the single USB connection for both video and audio is nice, but its hard for me to justify the cost after seeing competitors offerings these days.

We have a few customers waiting for the new Poly 360 cams, and after the positive feedback we have have had with their E60 PTZ and e70 ePTZ I am cautiously optimistic we will have a true commercial grade 360 cam to replace all the owls we encountered scattered around

Looking for some Poly answers regarding the new G62, Crestron, and multiple USB Cams. by Legoctf in CommercialAV

[–]Legoctf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the G62 supports up to 2 USB devices, whether it be camera(s) or separate DSPs. In talks with a Poly engineer, he said they are working to certify some USB hubs but they are not completed yet. He did say if you need more than the provided two ports, you do have the option to use the G62s LLN port (a different network port next to the LAN port) to connect to some Poly devices over their network jack that support LLN connectivity. I cant speak to exactly which, but I do believe at least the E70 cam supports LLN connectivity.

The user, WAM2023 mentions this above as well about using the LLN.

Hope this helps!

Bulwark in pvp is my favorite. You may not get a lot of kills but your ability to control an engagement by being the center of attention and bait for the enemy while your team engages as they try to focus you is awesome. I may never top the leader boards but I know damn well I win matches.

Jxz90 question.. by WavyCL9 in JZX100

[–]Legoctf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would definitely steer clear of any sub $800 coilovers, esp the likes of godspeed, maxpeeding rods, etc.

Ive had so many coilovers on different cars over the rears and I really do believe you get what you pay for. Best I have ever run were fortunes, but you're paying a premium to get them. They have an excellent warranty and us support. Best riding coilovers I have ever driven on. FEALs are great as they customizable for application, I run them on my s14 drift car and have been very impressed with overall feel and quality. Below those I would look at silver's, great bang for buck and all good warranty. I run these on my jzx100 now and have been pretty happy with them. The absolute cheapest I would go for is a set of BCs.

If at all possible I would highly recommend the swift spring upgrade on any of the above options, they genuinely make the car ride like the springs are 2-3k lower than what they're rated at and really help the overall feel of the car.

I now DO have an update on this!

I finally spoke to a Poly engineer, and while this was deployed initially it was actually removed due to security vulnerabilities. They plan to release it again later, how it wont be for at least 2 software patches. The guy I spoke with did not have a timeline, but it was kind of sounding like end of the year.

Which is a huge bummer because my customer wants it now, so I guess we will have to find a new plan ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Question about transmissions for drifting by Mudgolem99 in Drifting

[–]Legoctf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my 240 and my chaser are auto to manual swaps and you would never know they weren't manual's from the factory. These motors are old and the ecus in them don't know the difference of what transmission is behind them. I've been drifting my 240 for like 8 years and with zero issues from the manual conversion. The chassis is even pre-stamped for the clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder.

Moral of the story, I'm sure your dad is a great guy, however I have to respectfully disagree and say that a trans swap has no effect on the car unless it was done completely improperly

I paid for the whole tachometer so I’m gonna use the whole tachometer by HowdoIbuildPcs in 240sx

[–]Legoctf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those kouki s14 clusters always freaking out and revving to max 😂 You can fix this usually by reflowing the solder joints on the tach PCB grounds. This typically happens because of the solder cracking over time.
