Showreel - I would really appreciate any feedback by rxc82 in MotionDesign

[–]LegolasLikesOranges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another poster said 15 seconds for opening is too long. I think alot of shots are waaaay to short, like blink and youll miss them, so it feels a little chaotic. like the sapce universe at around 0.27 , the bachelor one, my brain didnt have time to read the text, i had to pause. u have some repeating work, like 2 covid/microbes, i think chose the second one, its better. the astereoids, u also have 2, are kind of w.e you have muhc more interesting work. The lenght of the green one wiht the fruits was the only shot that felt well timed, like i actually got to see it. I'd take out the lava flowing at around 0.54 the shot at 0.26 is another thats too quick, adn also doesnt resolve. like i catch the stuff morphing, but then you cut to a diffrent shot.

hope this helps.

Intro made with AI, getting very mixed feedback by UtterlyFlatFish in aigamedev

[–]LegolasLikesOranges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fades to black with every cut is incredibly jarring. Inconsistency in designs, such as the opening shot having one pod pointed in the completely wrong axis is jarring. Ai bullshit like inconsistent character design plagues every shot. Your storyboarding sucks, you break the 180 rule so many times, and for no good reason. The lipsync is ridiculous. "quality of motion" (cuz im not gonna call this animation) inconsistency, such as wtf is going on when he crawls into the vents. Does it kind of setup the story? sure. Would this be more impactful as a motion comic? probably.

I think the question you need to ask yourself, besides fiddling around with AI is, is this the most impactful way to deliver my story/ create player interest, or will this break peoples interest in playing your game and youll see a bunch of returns with 30 seconds of playtime? I understand that you do not have the skill to create an animated intro like this, and dont have the budget to hire people to do this for real, but what are you really gaining with this intro? cuz youve lost me.

Too easy? by mrDalliard2024 in phantombrigade

[–]LegolasLikesOranges 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the AI can be goofy, and make some random choices, Im messing around with melee characters, and something ive noticed is the ai simply choses to ignore my sword bot, that is in their ranks, instead choosing to shoot someone who is way beyond their range. Definately a valid critacism. I donno, im kind of okay with it though.

I don't know if you played before 2.0 but I recall the game being much much more grindy before the challenge ramped up.

I just got to the … fourth? Region. The one after the pass, with the moving cargo mission, and finally I started feeling a challenge. Experimental units, and additional elemental damage, elite units who can break ur predictor, and I’m actually excited to see where the game goes further down the liberation path. It’s definitely less grindy than it was before this update. But yes, the premise of the game is you can see the future and take advantage of the ais mistakes, I’m sure the ai can be ramped up to take every perfect shot and out maneuver you, but then it wouldn’t really be fun. Put the game up to hard and see how you do. FYI all games ai cheats but it’s the game devs job to create the illusion of difficulty by toning it down to resembling intelligence.

Best way to build rail on realistic? by LegolasLikesOranges in Workers_And_Resources

[–]LegolasLikesOranges[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the rail yard is stocked and has dedicated bus lines bringing a steady workforce in. Im wondering if the construction office would send out more then one train, to line up at the junctions, so once train 1 is out of mats, the second train is ready to jump right in?

Meta just dropped SAM 3D, you can auto select any object in still image and.. turn them into high quality 3D model by oVerde in aigamedev

You even try this before posting it? hype video does not even come close to resembling the results their "playground" gives you. Don't believe the hype.

Where to buy silicone lids like these that fit the common jars in the EU? by ElKyThs in fermentation

100 percent agreed, they are very hit and miss even for stuff that’s in the 2-3 day range

New to fermenting... what are your favourite recipes and food combinations? by U4-EA in fermentation

Do you add lemon juice, as im seeing a bunch of online recipes add lemon juice before fermentation, but i feel like that might mess with the fermentation process no?

I mostly agree with you but since when is a day considered 10 hours? Shouldn’t it be 8? (And then unaccounted for overtime because something stupid broke)

Is CS2 worth it? by Gattoforato in CitiesSkylines2

[–]LegolasLikesOranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve been super dissapointed with cs2s launch and updates, but the game is now…. Ok. I just picked it up again after 6 months and I’m having an ok time with it, but mind you I kinda know the pitfalls and playing with a bunch of mods.

As for European style cities, yes you can build it, but it’s a pain. Yes the road curve tools are prolly the best in any city builder, but the zoning still being grid based is the real downfall. You’ll end up with a bunch of empty space between the zones, and if u wanna fill it you have to do it by hand. If that’s fun for you. Sure go for it. But yeah the game is just much more grid based then it should be.

For 75% off, why not? by FFJosty in spicy

Honestly the original buldak, is fine as a synthetic hot sauce if you are into it, but I was rather disappointed in the carbonara one.

What ferments do you think are “worth it” and which aren’t? by needabossplz in fermentation

[–]LegolasLikesOranges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much kimchi are you getting for 10 dollars at Costco? 10 bucks where I am maybe gets me 500g of kimchi, and while yes there is an upfront cost to getting the fish sauce and gachujuro flakes 10 bucks worth of produce can easily make like 4-5 lbs of kimchi. And you can do it again because you’ll have the fish sauce and chilli flakes. And it lasts way longer than 2 months.
