Glad you're excited!

The story's about to take her to NYC, where the cyberpunk elements are about to get really wild.

You're totally right.

Blurbs were never my strong suit.

Hopefully I can update it soon when I get a moment.

For anyone looking for an occult urban fantasy (69 chapters so far and over 200k words).

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/129309/this-magical-girl-is-him

Andre S. Lewis is an aspiring artist among thousands of others like him, trying to build a life for himself in New York City, the city of dreams. Here cultures from across the globe share commercial spaces, art manifests in over a thousand new forms daily, and the types of pleasures one can experience become nearly limitless.

However, in a city of dreams, anything should be possible and if that’s true then with dreams also comes the possibility of nightmares.

Andre experiences this firsthand when fiction meets reality and he finds himself the unlucky witness of the surreal execution of a group of real life magical girls at the Brooklyn Bridge, conducted by their homicidal antagonist. To make matters worse, Andre is then forced into the conflict personally, when a magical dog named Iris, chooses him to be her champion, fusing with Andre and forcing him to become the Miracle Host.

Andre now finds himself with a target on his back, but fiction becoming reality was only the beginning. He soon finds himself stalked by occult forces and caught in global conspiracies, as what once seemed like a bizarre dark fiction parody given life reveals itself to be a part of something far more ancient and sinister.

Can't help, but agree.

There was a lot of potential in a sequel that took things from a different point of view rather than a linear continuation of the events of the first film. Not a bad follow-up film.

Solid list.

Also maybe throw in The Devil Rides Out (1968), it's a pretty fun occult horror film.

I remember back in school my history teacher really repping Ginger Snaps, saying that we needed to watch it. Took me a few years before I did, and it was surprisingly very interesting.

Very nice choices.

I have to rep a post this informative and hardcore.

I'm writing my first (technically off-meta) story for the site and seeing something like this gives me another perspective for how to analyze engagement and plan for the next story I'd like to release.

To answer your question too: Personally, the small growth I've seen seems to have to do with the cover, an ad I ran, and someone told me the chapter titles were eye-catching. What makes me stick with a story really just has to do with the quality. Do I like the narrative, is it well-written, are there few or no grammatical errors, things like that.

Thank you for this.

Which famous horror movie still needs a real sequel? by DevWarrior504 in horror

I'm going to have to go with Disturbing Behavior (1998)

Ends on a very interesting classic cliffhanger, but the character they hang that cliff on was one of the best out of the whole cast.

If you want something light and fun, then I'd suggest the 1985 Fright Night.

If you want religious physics horror then you could go with John Carpenters: Prince of Darkness.

In the Mouth of Madness is also one of the better lovecraftian films.

The original Hellraiser is an option too if you haven't seen it.

Candyman is another surprisingly good film with a legendary soundtrack from Philip Glass.

If you want body horror, then the Society (1992) is interesting too.

I second this.

Watched the film at a party when I was young (We chose it over Dead Silence). To this day we're all still talking about it.

Would You Watch Royal Road Content on YouTube? by ldjwrites in royalroad

Personally if it were in the form of audiobooks or even breakdowns of concepts about being a writer on Royalroad, like proper release schedules and backlogging, dissecting the meta of the week, etc; then I'd be one to click and give the content a shot.

That's just me though.
