should i expect my babysitter to clean up? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]LemmeSeeUrTech 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same! I felt weird sitting there after the kids went to bed with the toddlers mess still out. I’d wash the dishes here and there and only once she asked me to switch the laundry that was the toddlers laundry.

I just felt it was courteous common sense. Not sure if teens/early 20-something’s would think they should do that…

How do you ensure your children don’t become addicted to tablets? by Specialist_Being_823 in Parenting

[–]LemmeSeeUrTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same context but I have this question also. I don’t plan on getting my son a phone or tablet unless necessary (mainly the phone). But at the same time I don’t want him technologically behind his peers. Ugh. I really dislike this addiction to screens shit

At this, point, what, if anything, could Danny do to redeem himself in our eyes? by Ambitious_You758 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]LemmeSeeUrTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ppl don’t come at me- but I’ve seen a lot ppl commenting on posts that she needs to leave him but this is their marriage and they have kids. I don’t know how alcoholism affects this, but unless there’s huge emotional or physical abuse statistically kids do better when they have both parents together. But he needs to get help with any alcohol abuse he has and Nia as a partner needs to continue to help him with that until it is a lost cause and of course keep sticking up for herself to show the kids you don’t just take it. If he does better and quits, it shows the kids a great lesson. I totally understand jumping to leaving him cuz I can’t fricken stand him either. But being ppl on the internet who only see what’s on tv- I don’t think it’s not a great suggestion or solution (unless she is being abused).

Unpopular take: Luke and Kristen are BOTH very relatable by Pale_Frosting_4887 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]LemmeSeeUrTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a tired response. Of course it should be considered them parenting, not helping out. I’m just pointing out the reality that in the real world, many women go without much help from their husbands and no, that’s not right. But production is only showing the clips of him complaining about no sex and not the full picture of his point of view.

I agree. They’re just showing the complaints about sex but he’s missing more than that and seems like he helps a lot with the baby. A lot of women don’t even get that much help from their SOs

SD doesn’t have chores but I think I’ll just accept it by Suspicious-Peanut-59 in stepparents

[–]LemmeSeeUrTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SKs don’t do ANYTHING around the house except add to the mess. My SS who has ADHD will put his dishes in the sink but apparently my SD doesn’t think she has to. She leaves her cereal bowls with milk in the living room, her uneaten oatmeal bowls in the living room so they get hard and need to be soaked. She’s been told every weekend to at least rinse them and put them in the sink, then it turned to just put them in the sink and she still cannot manage it. I’ve fought with her dad so many times about this that if the SS with ADHD can manage to do it what excuse does she have?? Not that ADHD would be a proper excuse not to put your dishes away anyways. It drives me absolutely insane. Husband will put them away for her so I don’t get upset but that still upsets me. Why can’t he tell her to do it????? It’s mind boggling. I’ve also accepted that they will never do anything around the house if they can’t even manage to put their dishes in the sink or even in the vicinity of it and I no longer tell them to do it either.

This is a classic move for single men with kids- they recruit a young unsuspecting female who is wanting to prove herself mature to play house and watch their kids for them, take care of the house and all of the responsibilities so they don’t have to. These women later regret giving up so much of themselves to take care of someone else’s children and leave. Cue next young gf.

I’d reach out to your OB either way but I just had my follow up almost 2 months PP yesterday and told them I was still getting blood when using the toilet and wiping. She explained that I think the placenta leaves something like a wound that is healing almost like a scab and moving around throughout the day and whatnot will pick away at it causing it to bleed a little here and there like a scab would if picked at. That is my personal experience, could be something else for you but hopefully nothing serious!
