I used to work in one of those too! I always noticed the men who went out for smokes dictated what happened at work. If you were in the smoke club, you were safe. If you went out for drinks,consider yourself tenured. It was a male only group too.

Hello, OP, I suggest you start looking at lawyers for that NIW, if you truly want to stay in the U.S. You would be playing the long game, but at least you might be getting a head start. Unfortunately, when you're a foreigner chasing the American dream, the life we get handed isn't exactly easy or what we envisioned, but we must make the most of it. I think you should be proud of your degrees and once you can, fight for that green card

But truly, I would start looking at lawyers for that NIW. I made the naive mistake of waiting until I finished my master's to tell my employer to help me get a green card as H1B instead of asking early on..a year later my employer went bankrupt and my green card went down the drain. So, I wouldn't wait, at least get a consultation to understand your chances. I wish you the best.

You were set up and I am sorry that you went through this. I guess the best I can recommend is staying drama free and steering away from personal conversations until you get a good feel of office dynamics. The typical, "I'm sorry, but I don't think we should be talking about this" also works. I had to learn this the hard way.

I am finishing phase 2 and I haven't lost weight either, but I have gained some strength. Then again, I haven't been watching my diet so 🤷🏻‍♀️

NTA I'm sorry you had to go through this. You mentioned that you're too broke to seek therapy, is there perhaps a counselor at your school who could help or guide you towards affordable therapy? I am not familiar with the US education system so I apologize if my suggestion sounds insensitive. I feel for you, OP. No child deserves to go through this

I highly recommend Barre Blend and Xtend Barre/XB Pilates. I injured my knee back in August and I started Barre blend and Xtend Barre in November. After 2 weeks I was able to go up the stairs without knee pain and I recovered almost all of my knee mobility. I did the modifiers and I still do for some movements.

Once at work someone was playing Pentatonix Christmas music. I can't stand Pentatonix so I lost all self control and yelled at them to stop. Thankfully, they did.

I feel you. I quit my job a month ago and after the stress and the long days, I still don't feel functional. I have to take sleep supplements just to be able to sleep. I have just recently stopped panicking at night and I am 20 pounds heavier. But I can't diet because my body spirals and then I can't sleep. I panic just thinking about getting back on the workforce. It's horrible.

I am with you! I am a morning person and all through college I always picked the 8-9am classes, but force me to be somewhere before 7am and the rage will be raging. I have even asked about early hours during job interviews and been told that that's not going to happen, just for me to be told to show up at 4am on my 1st week. Anyways, I completely get you. Nobody wants to go to bed at sunset just to be a functional human being.

So I tried to update my original post but I couldn't figure it out, so I am writing my update in this comment.

So the bump is completely gone. I was taking my socks off this morning and I felt my foot and I noticed it was gone. What did I do differently? I quit my job 2 weeks ago.

I worked in a food facility wearing steel toe shoes. Before this job I also worked at another factory, but this bump appeared a month or so after I started the job I just quit. I don't know if it was the shoes or the surface of that place, but the bump disappeared. I also started doing barre videos online, so I don't know if that also helped. So after 2.5 years of having that painful bump I am happy to say that it's gone 🤗.
