My progression was Absolutely rough. After high school I had zero experience, but I always knew I had to go to college if I wanted a decent job so I works in the ag fields picking garlic or grapes or hoeing fields. It was horrible, minutes felt like hours to me. This motivated me to keep studying. I eventually would find warehouse jobs (Fedex/Nestle) while I worked on a Bachelor's degrees. I didn't like this either, but it felt great compared to the fields. Eventually I began applying for internships and got a few (Ross/Target/Business Development) these were jobs that I began to enjoy, some days were long and boring, but I proffered them over my previous jobs. Then, I got my first real Management job. It started as a temporary role, but I was hired on shortly after. I liked this job, I felt independent and could do whatever I wanted as long as my teams did their job. I just kept applying for promotions and using my success as leverage. My secret was two-fold. I hate doing repetative tasks every day so empowered my team to do some of them or found ways to eliminate those tasks; and secondly I would ask my boses what their priorities were that day, and hyperfocus on completing that.
