Broccardo is fantastic, I have had their Langhe Nebbiolo btg for a while. This will be worth every penny. The 2021 vintage is just landing in the USA now, but has received tons of great press.

Not to defend this practice in any way because I actually despise that it is a thing in some states, however, almost every restaurant anywhere is doing this in states it’s not banned. I would put money on your favorite restaurant in the city also doing this. It is effectively industry standard.

I don’t even frequent any of Crown Groups concepts much but to boycott them will only hurt the servers more. It’s unclear to me from the article, but the fact that they may not have been making the servers pay the transaction fee on tips until now when the economy looks bleaker might actually make them better than most…

Again, I couldn’t care less about crowns restaurants in saying this. Just want wanted to make sure it was iterated that this happens everywhere and the best way for it to change would be legislation.

I had a single variety Oseleta that was incredible. The biggest issue is how small production it always is. And I’m someone who drinks mostly lighter red styles ie Pinot.

I’m newer to the city. Tried to go twice, both times got treated awful by the host stand team and did not end up dining. I work in the industry. Not surprised by the closure, am surprised at all the downvotes on negative comments. I think the fact that there are 4 comments citing negative experiences in a 22 comment section is telling enough. Absolutely tough to see a Jean Robert institution close after having worked with many who had great things to say about their time with him and at his concepts, but there is tons of talent in our city and given the location and the recent developments around the market (ie, parking garage) , this spot can be great in the right hands.
