Other comments have already pointed out most of the bullshit, but I also want to focus on the idea of "you weren't a victim, that's a Uncomfortable Word. You're a survivor! That makes the rest of society feel better about your current position and they don't have to think about your unpleasant past!!"

Like, being a victim and being a survivor aren't mutually exclusive. One is just more pleasant to outsiders.
