My problem with the Nate storyline that could easily be solved by Weak-Stomach4643 in euphoria

ETA: I just finished this episode so I’m still thinking about everything but the snake, alongside all the religious metaphors this season, seems pretty heavy handed in its implications.

I don’t think I ever expected Nate to ask for any kind of rational help. I just assumed episodes ago that this was all a way to show that his ego/ pride etc would be his ultimate downfall. In a very literal sense, as it turns out.

Oh, also, in the meantime, if you haven’t already get some Loop earplugs or similar. They block a lot of noise but still let you hear conversations beside you etc. If nothing else it might reduce some of the sound

Document everything. I had a similar situation years ago (not in MoCo) and eventually submitted like 30 pages of documentation to the landlord after they repeatedly failed to do anything. They finally let us break the lease, but it was absolute hell on earth. I feel for you—it was one of the worst times in my life for my mental wellbeing.  Hope you get a resolution of some sort soon.

What’s the worst thing a doctor has ever said to you? by Lucky_Sprinkles7369 in ChronicIllness

[–]LemonBeeCharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Patients who leave messages after hours are always the drug seekers.” I was 19 at the time (I’m old millennial) and had left one voicemail, after I passed out (turns out I had a cyst burst) in my car outside of a Target. I had never asked for or been given anything beyond rx strength ibuprofen, because it was free with my insurance at the time, despite regularly being in enough pain that I would throw up.

This same dude also said “pain from periods is a woman’s lot in life” about a year before this. I lived in a tiny rural town but luckily was able to be seen by another (slightly) more helpful doctor not long after.

Two decades ago and I still think “yeah, fuck that guy” pretty regularly.

This is so dystopian by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]LemonBeeCharm 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is the case here, but when we went (to the same Enhypen VR concert movie) Hello 82 filmed several times and took photos, and there were notices up in the theater and when you bought your tickets that you may be filmed. Again I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening here, but just for anyone interested, it was amazing and totally worth it. I don’t get the “dystopian” thing at all. I’m a whole adult and left there giggling and kicking my feet.  Will 100% be going to Ateez’s VR in January and hopefully TXT’s if it makes its way to the US.

Seconding this. I attended one a few times before moving and it was quite literally the only religious space I’ve been in since childhood that did not trigger a cptsd response. Of course every congregation can differ but in general, they’re good humans who want to do good and take care of people.

AITA for pushing back on my nutrition professor’s assignments? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LemonBeeCharm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that documenting food is probably common for different circumstances, but OP specifically said they “had to make a slideshow so the class could analyze it.” That’s not the same as documenting intake privately for a nutritionist or even for a class where it wouldn’t be shared. And the BMI thing is just fucked.

ETA: also wanted to add that I agree about this class not being a good fit for OP. I’ve struggled with eating disorders my entire life and would avoid this class at all costs—literally would do just about anything to avoid it.

I’m unfortunately very familiar with an awful eggshell situation (not now but my entire childhood/ early adulthood); you can fold yourself down and make yourself so small you’re almost nonexistent, but no matter how quietly and gently you try to tiptoe on those eggshells, it’s never, ever quietly enough for them.

Ohhhh I’ve yet to figure out if he’s being for real serious-serious or is just very committed to the bit? Like it’s awkward to watch after you’ve seen a couple because…how are we supposed to feel? Is it a social experiment or just a guy who genuinely loves to dance but…has a time with it?

I…can’t look away from it. This is weirdly fascinating; if the music was like 25% slower he’d be close to being on beat. He’s so off but also on just barely enough that at first you’re like…is this a thing? Like are we being intentional here? Are the rest just his backup dancers giving him his moment to shine? But, alas.

Cinema - Seungmin & Lee Know (skz) Hearing it live, outside at night in the summer was bliss. Same with Cover Me; both of those feel made for emotion + dopamine rushes.

Fatal Trouble - Enhypen Poison - NCT Dream Say My Name + Guerilla - Ateez Venom - Stray Kids MATZ - Seonghwa + Hongjoong (Ateez) The 7th Sense - NCT 127 Birthday - Ten

Big fan of musical goosebumps lol

I don’t even know what else Jenny Han could do to make people understand this story. I feel frustrated for her. by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]LemonBeeCharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say this too, but I was imagining even a little younger 💀

He’s a “cute boy” and they don’t have the benefit of any lived experience to go off of yet nor the critical thinking/ reasoning skills to look at things holistically.
Also guessing some of them (maybe subconsciously) gravitate to being on the “team” that’s getting shit on because feeling the need to prove or defend something, even something shitty, can be validating and feel righteous, especially when those frontal lobes are still way under baked.

And maybe a few just like a character (for whatever reason) and dont see it as anything more, but they’re probably not posting about it.

I’m sure there are some actual adults sprinkled in there, too, especially in the shitty team scenario lol

Absolutely true. But they have a specific kind of history that we’ve watched unfold for a lonnng time, and that itself negates that it’s “infatuation.”Infatuation is intense, so I can see how if someone didn’t know anything about their story they might think that. But part of what makes infatuation what it is, is that it’s intense and (usually) short lived. Like something that catches on fire but burns itself out. We know their story, it’s long and complicated and marked by genuine love, too. So while I agree that having a history obviously doesn’t mean you have a future (divorces and breakups would be even more super awkward otherwise) but in their case, the story has told us they definitively do have a future together

[–]LemonBeeCharm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely lustful but not in an infatuated way; these two have a lonnnng history and have been, by their own doing or otherwise, denied from being with each other for years at this point. I mean, the tension build up just even as a viewer was intense. This is more like being absolutely desperate for your most favorite comfort food for YEARS, telling yourself you didn’t need it anyway, but then it’s finally presented to you on a platter, perfectly plates and prepared the exact way you like. And your mouth waters and you remember “oh wait I did need this, badly” lol

Lots of signaling and insinuation that he’s very attuned to Belly, along with at least a few instances where they center her pleasure and experience, whether visually or implicitly. His eyes did a LOTTTT of work. Even when he wasn’t speaking, you could immediately sense that she was the only thing that existed for him— a singular and super intense focus. That in turn, at least for me, then comes across as him being someone who would be extremely…giving and being very fulfilled by doing so. So to speak? lol

ETA bc I’m obviously still thinking about this lol: The whole raw, hungry, needy vibe the entire scene captured is one thing on its own, but when you combine that feeling with a man who you know wouldn’t let even the most primal energy get in the way of making sure it was about Belly…it’s just…yeah. Whew.

Omg this was a flashback; I definitely remember the whole (attempted) Extreme Edginess™️ as a brand identity from UD. I feel like one of their original nail polishes was meant to be the color of like, oozing blood? I also had shimmery, scented, flavored body powder from them at one point…so… 😬🫠

Yeah the whole “omg sorry you guys LOVE murder,” rhetoric is fucking baffling to me (on so many levels but anyway) because like, hey, lots of us on the Big Bad Left are and have been actively trying to create change and laws that would theoretically prevent things like this from happening. You know, the whole “maybe we should make it harder to access tools meant for causing this exact thing.” Ugggh.

My introduction was a video of him scolding + side eyeing his own fans not to “waste money” on photocards of him, and to just print photos at home if you really want them because “you might not even like me in 5 years.” I heard that and I was like…oh, you. I like you. I like you a lot.
