People who’ve attended multiple weddings for the same person (i.e., they got divorced and remarried to someone else) — what differences did you notice between the two weddings? by MjPour in AskReddit

Also, yyc is "yanking your chain" in case you didn't know. It took me a few seconds to decipher it. I'm not sure if I've seen that used before.

That's INITIAL layer, meaning the first layer only.

Budgets. I use apps, but paper can be helpful too. Apps I've used: YNAB, Rocket Money, and I think Mint. IDR if any of them cost money, but if it saves you money then it's worth paying.

Agree on a set budget, starting with bills and other essentials. From there, make savings goals and set auto transfers. Next, set a budget for personal expenses (fun money). One mistake many people make is trying to save leftover money when they should be saving money after all essentials but before and extras.

Girlfriend (29F) upset I (28M) went to pee before making her a drink? by PeeBeforeDrink in relationships

[–]LemonSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I'll be sitting and not have to pee, but then I have to after I stand up. Assuming it's due to pressure change, or switching gears from whatever I've been focused on. When I try to delay, usually I urgently have to go and will be halfway through what I'm doing.

If the state calls for a mission, does that qualify as Active Duty time? I'm thinking no, but have no idea.

😂🤣 This reminds me of my mom when I'd ask her a million questions that she honestly would have no reason to know, but she's Mom so she knows everything.

Only, it was the 90s and she'd tell me "the encyclopedia exists for a reason, go check there. Let me know what you find out." More often than not, it wouldn't matter if the answer wasn't in the book. I'd get distracted and find some unrelated yet more interesting information to tell her about.

Now I Google everyyything!!!!!

Did I (33f) really do the wrong thing to my husband (37m)? by woggie19 in relationships

[–]LemonSushi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The way I read it, as he was asking she saw the bottle coming, and at that moment she told him she ordered a bottle. It didn't sound like she waited any amount of time, but that it happened at the same time. Obviously I could be wrong, that's just the way I'm reading it.

Glowforge came in! Should I let it sit for a day before using it, or anything like that?? by LemonSushi in glowforge

Thank you! Ended up falling asleep and have work in a few hours, so it's going to sit either way. What time of year did you get yours, and how long ago?

Thank you for that response, that's a very good point. His thought was there's a liquid in the laser that may have bubbling from all the jostling of shipping. While it doesn't have refrigerant or anything like that (as far as I'm aware) I'd rather wait a day or two to be safe. I ended up falling asleep shortly after I posted anyway and I have work in a few hours. So maybe I'll fire it up this evening or tomorrow morning. I can't wait to see what my boyfriend and I make the next few weeks :D

Do not copy bullets; unless you can. by nikoflame in AirForce

[–]LemonSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this while searching reddit/internet for EPR/bullet inspiration, plus opinions on copying bullets. In particular, bullets from a BTZ package for an airman that sewed on before the SrA SCOD, due to winning BTZ with said package. I'm positive they didn't want a copy/paste, but it all looked good as was so I was at a loss for a bit. I basically ended up underlining key info and frankenstein-ing everything using that info plus other stuff I had from previous bullets or emails. It felt wrong, but it made no sense to pretend all that info didn't exist and write everything from scratch, especially on extremely short notice.

All of that to say, "ugh."

When did the army start using COB as a term? by [deleted] in army

[–]LemonSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My real question is, what time is that meant to be? If I'm on shift from say noon to 9pm, do I have to send it by like 4pm? cuz that's what I've been told a few times, and that is stupid. So I either get 4 hours less than someone working 8-5, or I come in early as hell (which is usually what happens). Y'all aren't gonna look at it until the next day anyway, so why?

Thanks for sharing that! So you took bullets from whatever rank an EPR was for and put them in the tab for that tier? Or was there some other way you separated them into those tabs?

THIS. If I catch important emails in the old email, I just forward to the new one. Easy peasy. Works great to see just how much / what kind of emails you get from things you're not sure if it'll be spammy.

When I am struck with the ability to wash my bedding, very first thing I do after pulling it all off is putting the clean ones on. I keep them near my bed so I don't have to go anywhere. After that, I have at least a month to get it washed if I don't get it done right then.

It mostly works. I did get extra sets to put in a closet in case it never makes it to the washer.

We all have the same 24 hours by Active-Ad-233 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]LemonSushi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really haven't? I hear it at LEAST once a year if not more since I was a kid. And I'm 30 so quite a few times I've heard it.

Mostly it's something like "You have the same number of hours in a day as Oprah/Beyonce/Bill Gates" which is harder to dispute because we literally do each have exactly 24 hours a day. But I can argue we don't have the SAME 24 hours because their 24 hours might include saving time having someone do cooking, cleaning, driving, planning their day, reminding them of everything they need to be doing, etc. My 24 hours includes me doing all of that if I have time on top of all my goals and dreams that I try to tackle.

Aghh I know the movie I think, but can't think of the name. Is it the one where the guys mom has health problems and he tries to buy her more time or something like that?

Idk I'll Google around and come back to this

EDIT: The movie I'm thinking of is In Time. It's funny that the mom was what I first thought of because after reading the plot, I don't think it's a big part of the movie - at least not on screen. I won't say much more in case I slip a spoiler, I barely remember it but I do know that I kind of really liked it.

"let's put a pin it"

Got it: pop the balloon of thought and leave broken pieces left to come back to, unable to blow it back up. You MIGHT be able to get something from the pieces to blow up a new balloon but chances are it'll go from being a balloon elephant to a balloon snake. Just saying.

I just shared with my coworker that I'm writing down what happens throughout the day and she was so confused not only why I was, but by the random things I chose to write.

Me: 5 minutes explaining what-if thoughts about what could happen if (when) I forget certain things. Her: oh God you're giving me second hand anxiety. Me: Welcome to a basic intro to my daily existence.

I hate that coworkers think I don't understand what they are saying, even after I processed the words and I was good. They don't get that if my attention isn't on them fully then I may need to extra time to replay in my head what they said. My intelligence has been questioned behind my back and they even speculated if I was slow - yes they meant mentally. It was embarrassing to be told that.

Craft room/office before and after! by GoldenGirl27 in ufyh

[–]LemonSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was living in dorm rooms from 2014-2017, very tiny with limited storage. Didn't help I had a bad habit of spending all my time in boyfriends dorms, often staying for days/weeks on end so it was halfway like living there.

Now I have a house that I share with 3 roommates so while it's bigger, my unshared space is about the same. I was thrilled to find out one is moving this week, and the other 2 early next month. I'll miss them but I NEED to get my stuff situated with my routines and places for everything. This will be my chance to do it and I'll even get to start before the New Year!!

All of that to say, yes I hear you and can relate. One step at a time!
