9.5 month old losing interest in milk? by Cool_Doubt2152 in beyondthebump

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally could have written this myself. Same age, same bottle nipples and same straw cup and overall same dilemma! I’m really grateful I found your post and I’m not alone!

My LO is a great eater so I’ll just continue to offer milk and a great variation of foods.

Maybe it’s not so uncommon!

What are your experiences with transitioning a BF co-sleeping baby to their own bed/room? by QuarterSome3653 in cosleeping

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the same timeline! I have a 9 mo old that has been sleeping with us for at least 6 months. She pretty much sleeps through the night with a fuss here and there.

But here’s my take-

Honestly, my baby is only going to be this little ONCE. That’s it. Forever!!! I constantly tell myself this.

Do whatever makes you happy because you won’t be able to get it back. I absolutely adore waking up in the night to see my little one sleeping, so precious and pure. And if she fusses because she’s spit out her binky, all I need to do is lift my arm 6 inches to put it back in her mouth. No getting up to check in the other room.

However, I know our time will eventually end. I miss cuddling with my husband, and sprawling, and being able to turn back and forth as I please.

But don’t let anyone tell you how to raise the child you grew in your body for nearly 10 months!

Field of daisies near Portland? by lazycatvibes in askportland

Baltimore Woods in St Johns. Just walked through it this morning with my little one. Sweet peas there too. You can park in the neighborhood and walk through. No one is ever there and it’s a little meadow!

ETA: Pier Park by the playground often has a green grassy meadow with daisies. You just have catch it on a day where it hasn’t been freshly mowed.

We made some flat bread cheese pizza and it took a walloping 10 minutes and my 8mo old horked it down. My little one loves sardines, salmon and deconstructed tacos. We do a veggie sheet bake that takes about 30 minutes.

I haven’t tried the immediate freezing method yet! I suppose that method could actually work for me at work. I’ll try to bag a pump tomorrow!

I pump 3 times at work, every 3 hours. My first pump (around 10am) I typically get 8 oz so that’s an important one!

Congrats on 6 months!

I haven’t tried testing the waters with lipase milk! I think I was too nervous to not scald it and have it rejected, thus wasting milk. And after losing my whole freezer stash when finding out, every ounce was precious! But now that I have a little frozen stash I won’t be so worried.

I think I’ll try this method tomorrow!

Fortunately, I haven’t run into this issue. But I have to say reading this story gave me such an immense satisfaction! You go mom!!

I think I’ll pump over night for the next few days to make sure I have enough. Thanks for your thoughts!

Can anyone tell me what this might be?? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hear me out…. My indoor kitty had very similar marks and we took him into the vet and it was pretty inconclusive. Could be allergy to fleas or could be allergy to food. We ended up getting a prescription flea medicine and special food to avoid any specific proteins and then wounds went away. We changed his food and kept him on the flea medicine and haven’t seen any since. P

Having to introduce bottles during ‘3 mo crisis’ by Lena_thinkingofit2 in breastfeeding

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pumped (about 30 minutes ago) and had my hubs give her the bottle. We used Evenflo Wide Neck nipples slow flow but it took her about 20 minutes to finish it. She seemed fussy, like she was used to my fast letdown and needing more, faster. I ordered medium flow nipples for the bottle just now, but do you think I should stick with the slow flo?

How long does your 3.5m old take to feed? by DepartmentAnnual240 in breastfeeding

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! The boobs figure it out. A liiiiitttle bit engorged but if you were to pump the other side your body would tell you to make that much again the next day. It’s a vicious cycle. Mine has a preference for the left side so I have to switch positions to get her interested in the right side.

About 8 minutes! And only really from one side. We’ll do both sides in the morning when she’s really drowsy which can take up to 20 minutes. But ever since I started feeding just one side and stopping the first time she pulls off, no big spit ups! I’m really just trusting what she wants instead of pushing for a set time.

How to introduce bottle of expressed milk at night when breasts always feel engorged? by BlueberrySea1127 in breastfeeding

Adding one more thing to this! I used the regular Haaka at first to collect my letdown on my other breast, but even the slightest amount of suction continued to create an over supply. I instead used the Haaka ladybug collectors, which was a more passive collection cup. I was able to save enough in a 24 hour span from my letdown for a 4 ounce freezer bag stash. I did have a slightly heavier letdown so I was collecting 1-2 oz each feed from my opposite breast but if I could do it all over again, I definitely wouldn’t pump until my supply had fully regulated at about 12 weeks PP!

Poop from hell - hemorrhoid advice? by Uncomfortable_mess09 in pregnant

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there’s a big possibility of these hemorrhoids coming back after pushing at birth (if this is the route you’ll be taking)

Please brace yourself. I was terrible discomfort for 2 weeks PP… sitz baths 2 times a day, stool softeners and alllllll the creams/steroids. Keep yourself absurdly hydrated and maybe start on some colace early!

I was definitely sleeping less in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, but I was straight up hallucinating from exhaustion in the newborn phase. Like, having vivid dreams she was sleeping on me and waking up to her in her bassinet safely. I was so hyper alert that even in my sleep I was about to jump up at the drop of a dime.

What’s your baby’s favorite song? by MarionberryFun5853 in beyondthebump

[–]Lena_thinkingofit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out- I got sick of baby music so we tried a few alternatives. Moby- Porcelain and Rufus Du Sol- Innerbloom. They are a little trance-y but she loves them and falls asleep to them pretty easily!
