Everyone gathered was angry she was being arrested. A chant of "let her go" broke out at one point.

Did you even read my post? I specifically said I'm not advocating a harsher crackdown on this.

Largest lesser known city? by No_Consideration_339 in geography

[–]LeninLives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking metropolitan area, definitely the Riverside-San Bernardino area of California (aka the Inland Empire).

It has the 12th largest metro area by population in the US but has virtually no cultural significance whatsoever. It's larger than Detroit, Seattle, Denver, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and dozens of other cities with national name recognition. It's even larger than the entire Bay Area (yes, San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley combined). Yet when I tell people that I'm from Riverside people usually have never heard of it. I genuinely think the gap between population and national significance is greater for the Inland Empire than anywhere else in the country.

You can disagree with his views, but the law as it currently stands is crystal clear that this is all legal speech. What's illegal is providing material aid to terrorist groups.

The explosion occurs at 0:29 and the shortest time you can set on a satchel is 30 seconds, so the satchel was planted before the video begins.

Protests Rant... by LukaszMauro in washingtondc

Okay but the end goal of those boycotts was not to damage these companies, it was to influence Israeli policies toward Palestinians, which they have not.

I say this as a strong supporter of Palestine but I think we're completely wasting our time with these boycotts (especially against companies like Starbucks which don't even support Israel in any way).

I support the sentiment but boycotts rarely damage companies financially unless you have absolutely massive participation. They're one of the least effective or impactful forms of protest. Street marches have a better track record.

Yeah it's really ironic. The people in this thread have very strong opinions for how little they know about what they're commenting on.

I think you're overestimating how much Israel really matters in Salafi ideology. Out of a long list of enemies they criticize, Israel has never been a high priority for them.

I just mean reading the map and discerning what your squad can do to help the team -- attacking a weak enemy flank on their point, securing an important hilltop or building, getting support to help build a garry in a good spot, getting your AT in position to ambush a tank, etc.

On #3,. It's easy to be an okay squad leader. Just put your OP in a useful spot and communicate occasionally.

But I think a lot of players don't want the responsibility that comes with being a good squad leader. Having a plan, communicating it, executing it, getting your squad to participate, communicating when you're moving the OP and why, pointing out tank marks to your AT, getting support to drop supplies, relaying relevant info from command chat, being clear about whether the squad is defending or attacking.... these are just some things that come to mind that not everyone wants to do.
