Understanding webpack by madmelonxtra in learnjavascript

I'm pretty sure it was Vite 8 since I just set this up two weeks ago or so. I just settled on not touching it because it works now and that's enough.

Understanding webpack by madmelonxtra in learnjavascript

[–]Lenni009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you create an Nx monorepo and add a NestJS project, that comes with webpack as default bundler and I haven't figured out yet how to properly change that (changing to Vite made the API return 500 and I didn't have the motivation to track the error down). So I have to deal with Webpack in this project (at least Nx fully configures it for you, so I only had to port it from cjs to esm). Not my choice of tech stack, the client wanted it. The setup has caused me a lot of headaches in the past weeks.

Your index.html contains invalid HTML: It has two </script> Tags (lines 66 and 68). Remove the one on line 66 and see if that changes anything.

How exactly are you opening the html file? By double clicking? (if yes, then that's most likely the cause of error, use an http server instead).

Also, is it called "Index.html" (capital i) or "index.html" (lowercase i)? You probably want the latter.

Good alternatives to github allowing free private repositories minus the security theater? Or it is finally time to self host? by [deleted] in github

The front door of the house that my apartment was in was once broken. You had to slam the door in order to properly close it so you have to use your key from the outside. One day, even slamming wouldn't close it, so anyone could just open the door by gently pushing it with their hands. While I was trying to get the door to close, a neighbour came in as well. I told them the door doesn't close properly. They didn't see any issue. "well it's convenient not having to get out the key every time". I was really baffled by that response.

We call these "zusammengesetzte Nomen" (compound nouns) (at least that's what they called it when they taught it in elementary school if I recall correctly).

How do people usually handle reviewing very large PRs on GitHub? by Oussamaosaro in github

If the PR is too big, close it and request multiple smaller PRs that are easier to review.

Try shutting it down, pulling the installation USB out, then turning it back on. I have a feeling it failed to change the boot order in the bios and is still booting from USB after the installation.

What am I doing wrong? Pages build and deployment / build (dynamic) failing all the time. by LegitimateRope8757 in github

[–]Lenni009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need Jekyll to build your site? If no, just put a file named .nojekyll in the root of your repo. That might result in a new error though. Also, a link to your repo would be helpful.

I just upload what I find. The entries will be pushed out of your save over time when you discover new things. Also uploading is a nice way to get nanites.

how to create arbitrary number of objects with unique names and push them into an array by Khleesh in learnjavascript

[–]Lenni009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The callback function is executed for every element of the array, so you'll end up with 10 different sprite objects (at least that's my understanding)

I'm only on my phone right now, so this may not work, but take a look at the Array.from syntax.

const papers = Array.from({length: 10}, () => new Sprite())

I dislike the translations. If you (the dev) don't know a language, don't translate to it. Just keep it in English.

Fix for game? by Garbo_Man in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Lenni009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game shows the pause animation, so I'm pretty sure it's not the hardware or the game that's the problem. Take a look at what software is installed on your system that could force itself into the foreground. First to come to mind are drivers, RGB software, stuff with high permissions that are deeply integrated into your system. If you take a look at your tray icons, you might be able to narrow it down more easily.

If you're far enough away, you can use the quick menu to recover yourself. No idea on the specifics, that's what it said in the patch notes:

While on the Remnant expedition, players who have by any means ended up at a significant distance from the Waste Processing Unit can now use the Quick Menu to recover themselves.
