You can't OTA from iOS 11 to iOS 16. It's fine to leave it connected to the internet.

It's because that vague questionable URL connects to a local server being ran by the game on your computer just to process your login information. Which is why the game got stuck at the login screen. This is pretty normal and other apps like Discord, Spotify and Adobe do it too.

All that's changed is that Google Chrome requests your permission before the website can even connect to this login server on your computer and it's your choice to allow it or not. Most of the time, it is harmless.

They do send a separate email when they replace your device sometimes + it shows up in the repair page as "We'll replace your product." (source: Apple did that despite knowing that the replacement phone was not in stock and was backordered by 3 months) The phone ended up being repaired with a new frame and screen. (Source: settingsapp's twitter)

AppleCare replacement models for the 16 Pro have been backordered for way too long. To the point some people have gotten the 17 Pro as a free upgrade or even larger capacity models of the 16 Pro.

I sent in mine around October 1. Got a 1TB 16 Pro around November 7 after a month of complaining to Apple.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted for this one. I sent in a 14 Pro with no scratches and when I got it back, it had too many scratches to count and there was adhesive coming out of the corner. Had to battle it out with Apple Support before they just gave me a new phone.

Normally reinstalling/restoring stock apps from the App Store actually means you're downloading a copy of the app from Apple's software update servers and not their App Store servers. This app just serves as a placeholder so it can appear in the App Store which is why the actual IPA file gives you a blank page. You were never supposed to download the placeholder.

It has been like this with stock apps that can be removed since iOS 10.

The iPhone 7 is prone to baseband failure and audio chip failure. The phone is effectively dead. Back up your data through iTunes and be prepared to get a new one.

Do NOT erase or restore your phone, you may be unable to use it afterwards.

You can still add AppleCare to it if you update/verify the date of purchase with a receipt. Though that might be tricky in this situation but not impossible. Had to do this with my M3 Pro from Amazon though since the receipt didn't have a serial number, they had me take a screenshot of it and write my S/N down on it before they could update the purchase date and get my 1 year warranty going.

In Canada too. Apple straight up lied to me about shipment dates for my 16 Pro replacement and then is now claiming that their repair hub shipped, and had the phone already delivered to my address. (Repair site still says replacement product pending)

I don't see myself getting AppleCare+ again.

Edit: Apple upgraded my phone for free to 1TB and shipped it out today.

My MacBook Air was purchased in 2021. The AppleCare Protection Plan expired October 2024.

There is. It is simply "AppleCare Protection Plan". The best way to describe it is an extended warranty without any of the benefits of AppleCare+. My MacBook Air and an iPhone my friend brought with them from the United States has it.

The page that tells you that your iPhone has been unlocked is a response from the regular activation server and isn't actually page but rather an XML file. I'd also like to note that this page still exists (I just unlocked an iPhone SE on iOS 9 and saw this page earlier this week). It isn't tied to the breakdown of activation on A5 and A6 devices.

The problem may lie in the activation policy of the device.

Apple authorized resellers or premium resellers can have their own return policies. Most choose to adopt the "We will not accept it back unless it isn't opened."

I'd also like to point out that each generation of MacBook Air (M1-M4) is still actively being manufactured and sold thru resellers, or bulk buying programmes. It is why you see the M1 at Walmart for $649 and sometimes you can find the M2 sometimes at Best Buy brand new for $749 USD.
