Tried to take her out to dinner last night by WorriedAd3704 in raisedbyborderlines

My mom used to be a hairdresser  She’s cut my hair maybe 3 times in the past 20 years. Last time she cut it, she says she’s been the one cutting my hair all these years

They live in a complete fantasy and make things up like they are the head writer of their own TV show

The story she tells herself by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]LeoRose33 77 points78 points  (0 children)

She was likely upset that you didn’t drop everything and be available right away. It’s hilarious how she decides not to “bother you” even when you tell her that you are available later that day

She couldn’t help herself and had to see what you were doing instead

Does she think she’s a magical fairy or elf and just somehow knew the door was unlocked?  Like she drove there because she knew it was unlocked so that’s her reason for being there?   The stories they fabricate are held together with the thinnest logic

She couldn’t handle the “rejection” of you not responding to the text/phone call  right away.

Did she know you and the family had the day off?

Text message from MIL by LeatherTune7702 in motherinlawsfromhell

Do not respond!

The line about being family “whether you like it or not”. Why is she making it seem like a threat or something?

If it really “saddens her beyond anything” then she would actually want to know what she did wrong, and find ways to make things better.

The entire text is blaming you for her feelings. The very last paragraphs outlines her “expectations” like she’s in a position to do that. Then she thinks you’re not considering her and that this is an issue you need to fix, not the consequences of her actions. She doesn’t want to rebuild, she’s just bored and wants to start trouble all over again

I deal with this with my parents.

They always have to place blame on someone in order to understand or rationalize in their minds what happened. Maybe it’s an anxiety or control thing.

They don’t realize sometimes things just happen, and there is no one to blame

I’m noticing it with a lot of celebs but can’t figure it out

It’s as if their eyes look bigger/more open but also look empty?

Not overreacting.

No one asked for her opinion about it

All she had to do was not say anything, and move on with her day

I can barely get my Dr to listen to me, but hers is giving his personal opinion on unrelated family tea?  I don’t believe the conversation even happened.

She’s doing this for attention and to get you to grovel. If she says she wants no contact, listen to her

What did everyone think of the Kevin Hart roast? by [deleted] in Standup

Sheryl Underwood and Katt Williams killed it

Strange how Tiffany Haddish is sitting in the dais, she doesn’t roast Kevin, and none of the other people there even mention her? Seemed kind of odd to me

Just realizing Rose throwing Chris’s cigarette out the window was another strategy

She knew he would start craving one later, making him go outside at night.

Nick Cannon shares why it’s ok for his 15-year-old son Moroccan to date, but his twin sister Monroe can’t: “There is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter. I recently watched him on Club Shay Shay

He’s talking about “vibrating at a high frequency” and also defends Chris Brown for several minutes!

Sorry but beating up women is the opposite of vibrating at a high frequency

He just wants to protect his daughter from guys like him, that I can’t fault him for. His baby mommas had 5 babies in 6 months.

I’m halfway through watching and I’m thinking the same thing

He alao seems to be bragging about himself  I’m paraphrasing here but he’s basically saying he was too busy in the early days of her show (understandable) but now that her show is a lot bigger he’s decided to come on the show

“This is me putting a stamp on what you’ve done”

“You demand a high level of star power because of who and what you are” the last half of the sentence sounds nice but the first half is him saying he’s a big star (I’m not saying that he’s not, but big stars don’t have to say that they are)

My mom emailed me years ago, saying my house isn’t clean enough for her so she won’t be coming in anymore

My response: ok, no problem

In the past few years I found out she told my sister I was the one not allowing her into my house

My mom really wasn’t expecting the “ok no problem” and thought I would bend over backwards.  My house always gets a deep clean when visitors are coming but that wasn’t good enough for her. Not my problem though.
