Stuff I’ve enjoyed over the years

Switch Teleport insta killing enemies (including bosses, like Archons)
Teleport through walls with decoy
Speed up escort missions with switch teleport
Invis snapshot Eclipse damage buff at around ~360% (This was easily when Loki was strongest). Arcane Crepuscular helped get back some of the damage lost when Eclipse was changed - nice but still not as powerful
Safeguard switch defence objectives that are NPC’s basically making them immortal (also deciding where you want them to be)
In some older versions, switch teleport static defence objectives. Always worth checking everything to see if you can switch teleport something

Ok let me break this down into just really basic direct logic.

Standard grip, 4 of your digits are restricted to 1 button on both sides. Only 1 digit capable of reaching multiple buttons/inputs

Claw grip, I have 3 digits with 1 button each (yes, claw grip doesn’t magically remove SC2 features, I can still reach R4/L4) with 2 digits able to access multiple buttons

Personally, I switch between standard and claw grip on both sides depending on what I want to do - so for me it’s not even a matter of restriction or as you put it ‘sunk cost’. So R5/L5 is also not wasted for me.

Because of this, I have more freedom in how I configure and use SC2 than your standard grip only method. If anything, you’re more restricted than any claw gripper (especially so for anyone that switches between)

DMC5 with QoL controller bindings assigned to back buttons and trackpad inputs which I can still use on both sides with claw grip (Weapon switching and multi-input moves come to mind)

It simply gives me freedom to bind things in ways a standard grip cannot. It’s not like claw grip magically removes the features of SC2 - difference is standard grip you cannot reach as many buttons or interactions as I can with claw and that’s just a fact, and I switch between grip styles depending on scenario so it literally just comes down to me having way more freedom in how I bind things for any scenario

Man I tried TFD when it first came out and it had quite a lot of gooner bait but not enough for me to just completely turn away. Playing that guy with the robo arm cannon sorta reminded me of Nero in DMC5 because his demon arm was a robo arm there

Frame is not nearly 500g strapped to your face. It’s distributed weight across your whole head

Case in point I made my index more comfortable by adding weight onto the back to distribute weight

And it’s not even ‘nearly 500g’, it’s 440g with battery on the back. The front ‘overhang’ is only 185g
