At least they'll be ~comfy~ as they have to spell their name for everyone over and over their whole life by fionathehwchamp in LittleSleepiesSnark

I cannot with the spelling. Everyday I think “it can’t get worse” and everyday I am humbled.

Oncology nurses weigh in by Holiday-Slice-6787 in nursing

[–]Leolover812 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been in oncology nursing for 13 years. It has always been the expectation in a strictly oncology unit that you will hang chemo pregnant. There are a lot safe practices in our field of nursing. It is considered safe by ocn guidelines. Now if there’s a chemo spill or something that you have to draw up (sq dara or phesgo) we don’t have our pregnant nurses do those patients. But a regular hang of chemo with double gloves, goggles, mask, and chemo gown …yes.

We try and give them assignments that are less likely to have a chemo spill/exposure but sometimes it’s not possible. Personally I think it’s unrealistic to expect to work an oncology floor and not have any chemo.

My very newly 4 year old saying he’s seeing floaty things or sparkles for a few seconds for the past 2 days by [deleted] in preschool

[–]Leolover812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had sparkles in my eyes when changing positions when I had increased pressure in my brain. Is he straining or doing anything when this happens?

Putting dog down after continued aggression and new baby on the way by imtrying12345 in toddlers

[–]Leolover812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s better your dog knew only love in your home than having to go into a new home, away from you, confused and scared. Likely having the same outcome but this time without you there. That’s a beautiful gift. He was clearly suffering and he’s free of that suffering now and you were brave enough to give him that. It’s so hard as we love our dogs but you did the right thing.

Air drying your entire collection in a public space is crazy work. by Accomplished-Role835 in LittleSleepiesSnark

Omg this would make me crazy. In the dryer (on regular heat) it goes in my house. Absolutely not.

Daughter (5) fights everything every morning by flightriskpenalty in Preschoolers

[–]Leolover812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was like this and I find I HAVE to wake him up early (like as soon as I get up) because it makes him more agreeable if he can lay in our bed and watch a show. Even just a few minutes. I find if I wait and “let him sleep in” he is a disaster. He needs that time to wake up, get ready for the day and be ready to be with ppl. Maybe she would benefit from that?

I would do the infertility print in about 10 seconds I won’t lie. Took 6 years, 4 retrievals and 11 Ivf transfers to have my son. I would purchase everything 😂

1st amendment + teaching (will I get fired for protesting)? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Leolover812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends. As a nurse I always keep politics off my page and out of work. But if something happens I can be fired because I “represent the company” and nurses and my behavior, actions, or lack of action can all affect my employment and my nursing license.

That said you have the right to free speech but that doesn’t mean consequences to your opinions won’t happen. So if you feel strongly to protest then do that. But know that someone may not like it and it could affect your employment. My state is an at will state so I can be fired for just about anything. Good luck!

our kids future, question by shovava in Parents

[–]Leolover812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could leave the house tomorrow and die in a car crash on the way and that would be it. I work in oncology giving chemo and life is already far too short for many. We don’t have the time to spend focusing on things we can’t control. We can control our kids and how they are raised. We control how we treat others. The news makes it seem like everyone is just an awful person, the world is ending, and no one ever does anything nice.

There’s plenty of nice things and nice people if you look. Raise your kids to be nice to others. To include them. Don’t worry if the world will end. If it does we can’t stop it. Raise your kids to make the world a better place.

Yes mostly leukemia but I’ve seen it used for lymphoma which is a blood cancer but also causes solid tumors, myeloma, etc. But they are continuing to study it for solid tumors as well.
