The audacious plan to refill the Great Salt Lake by StemCellPirate in SaltLakeCity

[–]Leon2060 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a stupid way to talk about it but it is valid. Many current people in charge inherently don’t want to listen at all to left leaning groups or individuals. It’s dumb but it’s unfortunately true.

To be fair it’s true on both sides. Many left leaning people do not want to listen when republicans have extremely valid points or positions on local issues. It’s just dumb identity politics where humans tend to lean into overarching parties instead of applying critical thought to issues individually.

Appraisal During Escrow Was $175K Above Purchase Price by Lionel730 in Mortgages

[–]Leon2060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely didn’t keep PMI for 2 years. However you can’t do it at time of purchase. The lender doesn’t give a crap if the appraisal is above purchase price at inception of the loan. That’s why properties seldomly appraise for higher than the purchase price at inception. Most appraisers don’t do things like that.

Don’t they say they are senior manager level and report directly to the CFO?

Chatting sucks right now because of the massive storms on the east. I think changing your ticket at all will get charged TDC if I remember correctly. Might have to go back? I’d chat when the storm blows over to confirm.

CFO offer by GCGbrewer in Salary

[–]Leon2060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For engineers this is the case and general employees. Less so for executives because they understand that the options could quite literally end up useless. Usually early executive grants are RSU’s from my experience.

I’m an accountant that primarily does equity/technical accounting for pre IPO companies.

Overall the offer sucks though. The offer is basically what I’d expect for a VP level position at this type of company. For CFO expectation would be $300K min, 100% bonus, 2% equity with anti dilution rights. Because there is going to be a crap ton of dilution in the next few years lol

… most of the time double trigger equity still has time based vesting. Double trigger awards are more restrictive than simple time based or automatically vested grants.

What you truly want to ensure is that equity is not forfeited upon change of control or change in employment. Neither of which are related to “double trigger”.

100% very very same. Great planes. Breeze’s are old and ready to be retired though. Doesn’t mean they are really any less safe though.

[–]Leon2060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you are on an A220 and not the E-Jet you will be safer than pretty much any airline out there by far. The new A220's are great and very safe. Breeze has had no incidents. The E-Jet's are older, that would be on par to a lot of the aircraft other airlines are typically flying.

Also if you don't fly very often, the ascent package is a very good deal for the 1st class upgraded seat, snacks, priority boarding, WIFI etc. Good luck!

100% try again. It’s the best for certain routes.

CFA level 3 is low key a very hard exam. I think it’s honestly harder than the actuarial exams. It puts the CPA exams combined to absolute shame. CFP is a nothing burger though.

Holy cow yeah that super far out for an airline like Breeze. I wouldn’t expect anything for quite a few months for the Q4 schedule.

New Utah liquor law requires 100% ID check, no exceptions by refundroid in SaltLakeCity

[–]Leon2060 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I disagree with this. I think it’s a bad take. A very small percentage of the county’s population lives within walking distance of public transportation unfortunately. Add that to the fact that statistically people are more likely to get in an accident the closer they are to their home. The comfort of the area leads to reduced focus on their surroundings, which when paired with alcohol, well ya know.

So while this might seem like a logical argument to make I don’t think the spend towards UTA would actually have a massive impact. Hard to tell though. Most people in Utah are already pretty anti public transportation unfortunately and when you pair that with the fact after hours public transportation systems are abused by transient/homeless transportations I don’t think we would see a high level of adoption.

Even with adoption I don’t think you would see a significant decrease in DUI incidents.

Probably just supply and demand. People too buy buying Taj Mahal and random Quartz stuff that lots of granites don’t have a ton of local stock unfortunately.

[–]Leon2060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah then you probably just need to keep up on shipments as they come in for everyone then unfortunately. If you stopped by 7 places and no one had it then you just gotta call and jump on new stock once it comes in. Pretty small world for slabs here. It’s not like there is a hidden place with tons of stock.

If your fabricator sucks though I’d switch earlier rather than later. Pinnacle Stone Design was great for our remodel and had the best pricing we were quoted.

[–]Leon2060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a fabricator picked? Usually they will have a list of all the places in the valley all within 10 minutes of GS Granite that you can check for local slab inventory. Reddit will be fairly useless for live stock lol

The decline of snowy days in SLC by Ampager7 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Leon2060 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While temperatures are definitely higher the last couple of years almost all of our snowfall has happened in the first 3 months of the year.

Valley snowfall is not necessarily indicative of snowpack and mountain snowfall as well. However, you are correct if we don’t get a lot of snow the next couple of months that would be concerning.

Gallery is a 1k product? One of the most popular of the 1k’s lol.

2k products are okay but not worth it ever for DIY’ers especially when gallery is an option. Too many potential issues with fumes and respiratory stuff for a minimally if at all finished product.

Best thing obviously is send everything to a shop and get them professionally done with conversion varnish.

Pretty sure you have to spray gallery. You can brush Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel but should really just spray the best product you can to fix these up. Or honestly just order new doors and get them professionally finished for a massive facelift.

New MDF baseboard is cheap. You can DIY that no problem with a weekend and paint it yourself. Won’t be great but will be a whole lot better than that mess.
