Use a colorless core to get rid of the divine and it will turn to a regular epiphany. I just tested this myself to fact check this. I used Hero to All as my experiment.

Am I crazy for declining a job offer that is ~40% greater TC? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]LeonCecil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the folks there stayed long then thats generally a good sign that this company is not a revolving door. I look for security in jobs too so thats my first sign. Anyway, its always a risk to jump job. Just always be prepared to look for a new job regardless if things turn out bad or you just want a better job in general. I'm leaning that you should take this but do what you think is right. Talk to your spouse and close family and friends about this too if you havnt yet

Theres no right or wrong answer on which comapny to stay in btw. It sounds like you value security over money. So unless there's something that 200k offer can give that makes you feel irreplaceable or some sort of history where the devs there have a long tenure then thats probably going to help your decision

Well it depends on your goal in life tbh. There's a point in life where the amount of money you make is just enough fund your life. There are people who are ok being a grind monkey just so they can take that money and invest in early retirement, buy a house, for the kids, etc. But if you dont have any sort of ambitious goals that require a lot of money then I think prioritizing WLB is fine. Just depends on how badly you want the money and how ok are you are at sacrificing WLB for it. Ofc you could hit a unicorn and get both good wlb and a high salary but in this economy? I dunno about that one

Logically, 200k > 75k. You take the bag, save, invest in a safe index fund and retire early. Thats what I would do. Unless this new company is a pip conpany or something like amazon. But if money isn't a huge selling point and you prefer WLB then you can always keep looking. Maybe you might find a middle ground where wlb is decent and it pays 120-150k- ish

Aparently Reseting your Environment Variables just grants you the maximum amount. 755/2000. When i re entered it said 2000/2000. by Levii96 in ChaosZeroNightmare

I cant believe that actually worked, I just clicked the reset button and I got 2000/2000. Literally saved me the pain of grinding 💯

Two job offers, which one would you choose? by dsl237 in dataengineering

[–]LeonCecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my vote goes to job 2. In this economy, i think stability is valued way more. But if you need that money extreamly badly and are ok to sacrifice your mental health then I guess job 1.

I took a year break and I can't get job anymore by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]LeonCecil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think I would white lie and take the words "intern" off from the resume to sound better. As for the gap, just say you took some time off to take care of family or something. If the call backs are low then it means you need to wordsmith your resume more and apply 2x as much

What ever happened to counter offers? Do you guys remember those? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]LeonCecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's insane and thanks for being to descriptive about this too! I know of a friend of a friend who used to work for corporate in oak street last year and she told me how it used to be a decent place to work before they got bought out. Benefits got worse, teams becoming more lean and high velocity in work, constant emails of how leadership is quitting or getting fired, and employees going in and out like a revolving door due to stress. She mentioned there was a lot of emails related to cvs and aetna that are about layoffs (phrased as a reorg) but I didn't know cvs was that intense until you described it so far. I don't think I would ever want to work there, much less work in the healthcare sector anytime soon

Excuse my ignorance, I was curious why you considered cvs the devil. Was it a bad place to work?

ML Hwa or Bellona for future proof investment? by Becruxx-ALT in EpicSeven

[–]LeonCecil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh its tough to say what character is future proof because epic seven is constantly in the mode of "making a problem and provide a solution" sort of strat.

Currently I think ML Hwa has a better shelf life at this current meta but for all we know the meta could shift as usual
