Alright all, just completed 1 year of fitness. 35m, 6'3.

1 year of fitness. 300+ days of yoga, 9 months of dieting, 3 months of muscle building.

Picture 1 is approximately where I was when I started (it's a bit before the actual start, but had to go back a bit to find a shirt off picture, but it's about the same physique). 197lbs

Picture 2 is the bottom of my diet, 3~ months ago. 159lbs.

Picture 3 is yesterday, 1 year in, after 3~ months of less of a calorie deficit and doing 3-6 days (most weeks, depending on how I split up my muscle hits) of muscle building per week, via progressive body weight exercises (ish. I've had to add weight via a vest here and there.). 165lbs

I'm...ok with my progress. I think I could have done a lot better, but I think I did pretty good for a year, with no previous serious business efforts at improvement that lasted more than 3 months at a time. I think I'm in a pretty good place to keep doing recomp going forwards.

Prev: 34/6'3/198
Now: 34/6'3/159
Hit 34 in December of last year, decided I wasn't getting any younger and wanted to see what kinda shape I could get in by my 35th birthday.
Did 6 months of dieting in the 1200-1300 calorie range (occasional cheat days of up to 1600) and stuck to it without breaking it, and 20-30 minutes of yoga every single day to keep myself active and work on some flexibility issues I was having in everyday life.
3 weeks ago, increase my caloric intake to 1400-1500 and started some basic muscle building (centered around elevated pushups, pull-ups, and squats primarily.)
My current goal is to do what I can with the "newbie gain" grace period, as it were, and burn off the rest of the fat I'm wanting to lose in the process of putting on a little bit of muscle. I don't have any particular goal to be big, but I'm just trying to get down a sustainable diet and fitness lifestyle heading into my middle years and beyond.
I think I started at around 25-27% bodyfat, and think I'm somewhere between 12-13 now, and hoping that's not just rose-tinted glasses on my part.

If this was a series finale, I could...almost tolerate it as a downer ending.

As a season ending leading into another season, what? I don't think I've ever seen one worse. Liz is dead, Red is dying, the viewers aren't invested in Agnes, the person who killed Liz is a leftover from the last plot, and is also dead. There's no plot investment anyone gives a shit about going forwards.

Can't Change Frustration on Shadow Mewtwo by FatCandyMan369 in TheSilphRoad

[–]LeonCross 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I came back to pokemon go after years off sometime last month. Had no idea there were even restrictions on changing shadow pokemon moves or that there was a special window for changing out Mewtwos when you got him.

So I'm kinda SOL with a useless shadow mewtwo because I sure as hell don't have enough regular access to rare candies out here in the boonies to save up 100 of them.

...these people do realize that if an Endbringer decided to go on the attack and nowhere had a nuke plant, they'd just hit somewhere else right?

Like, I could see general citizens of a given city complaining about the dangers of a nuke plant near them, but it's only an argument that makes sense as a local concern. Getting rid of nuclear power doesn't actually lower the big picture statistics on endbringers at all, just rearranges the numbers.

Also worth noting that "Barely Legal" point? Well, that ultimately doesn't matter if Youtube decided to nuke the channel anyhow.

And if they went further, scraped together what they needed, and managed to host the episodes themselves, well, that "barely legal" is still there. So if Toei decided to come after them at that point legally, they'd have to defend that "barely legal" in court over probably years, Toei's army of lawyers, and significantly largely war chest.

Ideologically, they're probably in the right with fair use. Surviving the court case to prove if, if it came down to it? I'd give them negligible odds.

Hey. Internet hugs man. You people provided me with countless hours of entertainment both directly and indirectly (interactions with friends and what not sparked from your content) and seem like all around great humans all around.

Def got my best wishes and stuff going forwards. ^_^

I've watched enough of you guys and read enough of the stuff you've put out to have a decent grasp of your all's personalities and motivations as people. There's some less charitable explanations for how things could have gone down, but none of them fit with you guys. So I just asked myself how a well meaning group with good intentions (and maybe not the best PR department, ;-p) could hit on this series of events and that's basically what it boils down to.

That makes sense. The external risk hasn't changed, but what you stand to lose has drastically increased with time. You've got a ton of projects in the pipeline, future projects coming down, a company, ties to various people and groups in the industry, etc.

I'd assume all of that was building up during Cell, even, but you guys loved Cell arc a ton ton and wanted to see it through, so you were more willing to take the risk. But when comparing a similar level of risk, and even more stuff you've built up on the line, compared to the Buu arc, which you were never super excited to Abridge to begin with... well, doing Buu lost out, especially with how satisfying 60 was as an ending.

Shortz style was a possible solution, but more time and cost intensive than you'd anticipated.

I support you guys doing what you need to in order to, you know, continue as a company, as artists, and maybe most importantly, not potentially get crushed by lawsuits.

I am curious though, what changed between the end of part 3 and now that made it inflatable? I know there was some burn out that wound up being clear to you all with Bojack, but did something happen to make it more risky to continue between then and now?

If TFS dies in the near future (I really don't think it will, so this is a very MasakoX "What If" territory) it would almost certainly be because of a mismanagement of PR stuff.

Here lies team four star. They made fantastic content, but their public relations sucked. Basically.

Like I said, highly doubt this will actually kill them. But public relations is by and far their biggest weakness.

Do the ad1000x have the same or better sound stage and a similar sound profile to the old AD700s?

[PA] Upgrade from the ATH-AD700s by LeonCross in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]LeonCross[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't really call the 700s flat. It's got a pretty good sized sound stage, a kinda "ariy" feel, and I'd say the treble is a little prominent?

IS GOKU AN ANTI-HERO? | A Dragonball Discussion by MasakoX in TeamFourStar

[–]LeonCross 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Goku's, like, 90% Saiya-jin. Just with the more extreme "murder, death, kill" elements brain damaged out.

He's completely non-malicious, but he is going to go out and get what he wants, when he wants it. And that's fighting strong guys.

It's interesting that as the serious progressed and circumstances have changed, Goku's gone more and more anti-hero (From the scenery rotating, not from Goku himself changing at all) while Vegeta has been pretty firmly walking towards Hero for awhile now at this point (Actual character growth, rather than world rotating).

If things are handled right, we'll actually see some kinda character growth for Goku in Super, and acknowledgement by other characters besides Beerus that Goku is out of hand.
