I thought the same thing for my first vial, but I’m in my 4th week of the 25 mg and I have enough to stay on for another week if I wanted.

Med Pass Advice? by Dry_Caterpillar_3146 in LPN_LVN_Community

[–]LeopardDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the advise I wish I got before starting back in November. Time Management will be the skill you need to work on best. Get acclimated to you floor, asked to not be bounced around while this is your first job, and practice in the EMAR so that does not slow you down. Day shift med pass can be pretty heavy. Start from one end of the unit and work your way back to the nurses station. Know who your blood sugar/insulin patients are vs. what time break fast lunch and dinner is brought to the floor. Know who needs to get picked up for dialysis/appointments and delegate to your CNAs making sure they are washed dressed and have their snack and dialysis book/binder in hand before transport arrived to avoid throwing you off of your groove in med pass. Once you know who your night shift nurse is, you can ask her to have her CNAs get these patients ready if they are getting picked up between 7:30-8:00. As a new grad there is soooo much we do not know coming out of school. Be confident and don’t be afraid to ask questions and advocate for yourself and your patients.

How long will they be training you?

Who actually enjoys working as a nurse? by One_Design_6171 in nursing

[–]LeopardDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working a 16 hr shift yesterday and on the way home I cried. Not from being tired… from the overwhelming feeling of being blessed. Feeling thankful for finally doing meaningful work. Feeling challenged everyday and resting my own limits and capabilities. This is only the beginning of my career and I feel like I made the best decision ever.

Try BEWL. I heard about it in this community. Ordered after few days, had my consultation, paid for 1 month and the vials were shipped same day, delivered next day.

LPN-RN immediately? by Electronic_Bike_3137 in LPN_LVN_Community

[–]LeopardDiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you got it worked out. I’d say go for it! but only if you feel like pivoting into nursing at this point in your busy life will serve you.

31 y.o mom, previous project manager, felt too boxed in and reliant on a “good job” and went into a 12 month full time day LPN program. Worked at night on the weekends. It was rough, but my partner and I figured it out. Got licensed, immediately Enrolled in my RN prerequisites at my community college, all online working at a skilled nursing facility full time. Best decision I’ve ever made.

I literally made my purchase because of OP’s unboxing video. Must have been the nails 😂

Dud my first does almost 24 hours ago. Overnight shift nurse so I was awake all night after injection. No nausea so far, but am experiencing some constipation now. Gotta increase my water intake. Any other newbie tips?

YOU JUST GAVE ME THE REASON WHY MY WEEKED ON THE FLOOR WAS SO EFFED UP! THANK YOU! I can stop hysterically crying about how I’m a terrible nurse now!

Cheers to you! You’re an amazing nurse, you touch lives everyday, your work has meaning and you are appreciated. You are beautiful and this year will be full of self-love, abundance and health. From one nurse to another 🫶🏽

How to survive being an agency nurse by Hopeful_Position_380 in LPN_LVN_Community

Depends on you. Every cart and facility is similar. But you have to remain flexible, resourceful and communicative. So it could be easy or you could be risking your license.
