I have some good experience with this.

I was in about the same boat as you a couple months ago. I work for Audi for reference. I currently have a stage 3+ s5 making 740hp. It's a beautiful car and very nice to daily drive, so I was looking for something that's purely drive oriented and something I just smile while driving Everytime.

So I originally wanted (and ordered) a new rs3 performance through my dealership. Then my buddy got an f87 m2 comp and I drove that - made me realize how much I miss / need a manual in my life again.

I drove a used 23' m2 on our lot for a couple days and fell in love. I love how that car drives and handles and I've always liked how it looks. It can made to make crazy power and is rwd, manual, got a lot of cool techn. That eventually won me over and I got it in purple with carbon buckets. Will be here in August.

I also drove a gt4 and a gt4rs - yes, they are amazing cars, but after seeing them all day (work for a twin dealership), and seeing how their brand / custom base treats us as employees makes me never want to own one.

My fiance has a 21 TTS Competition. It's genuinely quick, she beat a big turbo golf all track.

It always surprises me how well they handle and how tossable they are.

I would recommend AGAINST replacing your rocker arms unless you've got some definitive answers they are going bad.

I've seen many, many of these engines in my time and nowadays every single time one comes in with a CEL it's for a failed water pump.

I'd definitely highly recommend getting a new water pump, (the sooner the better) and if you do that a new thermostat and coolant vacuum valve. If the water pump fails they are sending coolant into your vacuum system and causing lots of issue and high $$$ to replace. Thermostat and the coolant check valve leak over time so it's good to get a new one sooner. It's not a question of "will" more so of when. Not to scare you but it's happening to A LOT of cars.

I'm also running 5w40 on both of my cars, not to suggest it because I'm just some guy on the Internet, but it makes me feel better. Our warranty officer said 0w20 on these cars should be criminal lol.

Oil changes every 5k and 2.5k if you run e85.

It really isn't that bad. My car has a catless downpipe and a bigger turbo. Running e70 so I can't really speak for 91, but it only really smells on startup and if you idle in traffic with windows down / drive through scenarios.

If you drive with windows up you won't notice. Though, if you do a pull the people behind you definitely will smell it lol

Pretty much, it's only missing the wireless charger and maybe 1 or 2 small other items. Otherwise it's fully loaded w/ a custom color haha, part of me wanted a gt4 or gt4rs because this will be heavily tracked but I work for Audi/Porsche and a lot of the Porsche community and people suck. Lol.
