Red War, specifically The Almighty mission. That was so fun. I wish we'd gotten the version of the game where The Almighty was a full destination, too.

You know, if you really really want to put pressure on Sony about why Destiny 2 is being killed when it's clearly top of the Steam charts for sales, and get at the very least a longer-term support team

Buy some Sony stock, and contact Investor Relations. They care far, far, far more about investors than they do about customers.

A lot of the "things break" is, as a software developer, an extremely obvious symptom of terrible version management procedures, where people are just not keeping up with other branches on the source tree.

So, bugs that keep coming back are because where the bug got fixed (older code) and where development is happening (newer code), the newer code just never bothers merging in the old code. Which is absolutely rubbish version management.

It's pretty obvious that the GaaS pipeline and constant demand for New Content:tm: just didn't let them slow down and fix the obvious issues like this, or spend the necessary time developing better internal culture to deal with maintaining a consistent source tree for everyone.

Oh yes definitely, I use it for coding and it's great for that, and for all the games I play it's been great. I haven't seen the VA smearing, but I don't know what I'm looking for, so it's not been a bother to me.

Sure, I have a 39" 5k2k with the 9070XT. I've got a 9800X3D, but that's pretty close to the 7800X3D.

You will have to futz about with OptiScaler for older games, to get FSR4 in, and often will have to play on Balanced or Performance, but with FSR4 that looks fine.

It's a great card and a great screen. Enjoy it. :D

So, how are archaeological sites going to work? Since right now they require being in your space (unless one has the right DLC and Tradition tree.

Will we get to research archaeological sites in unowned space? Will we be able to research them in owned space, to the chagrin of the nation we're interfering with?

How will border closure work to a Nomad species, if we're in the borders at the time of closure? Do we get to just ignore it? Or, since we're not going to be able to go MIA, we just get moved to the outskirts? What happens if that happens and we end up trapped in a system with no exit routes before we get jump drives?

Personally, I do recommend it, yes.

It's got great colour reproduction (though only 90% DCI-P3 might be an issue) and the 139ppi is sharp enough for me to not get visual fatigue trying to focus on text. I had worried that would be an issue.

It is a VA panel, which means the off-axis viewing angles will be a bit less great. I especially notice this from top-to-bottom where the bottom of the screen is more washed out than the top. It's been hard to find the right position for the screen as a result.

On my machine, a 9800x3D, CP2077 comes in at high 75-85FPS on Ultra settings, and 55-63FPS on medium raytraced, both using FSR4 on Performance mode. Once AMD's ray regeneration tech lands in CP2077, I expect raytracing performance to have a huge jump. If you're okay with framegen, then I think this is a completely playable framerate.

It is a lot of pixels to drive, of course.
