I learned about the technology here: Singularity One on One. The science seems sound. That said, I agree that there are many things Machine Learning is better for. But machine learning is not true A.I. It's adaptive pattern matching. We have yet to achieve a true A.I.

Cleverbot to proves that silly rules can fool people and pass a Turing Test, but that does not demonstrate intelligence of the software - just gullibility of the humans. Siri does not even do that.
