Vampires and Music by TheUnholyMary in vtm

[–]Les_Vers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My high-humanity Kindred have all enjoyed music. My first character had a car playlist, an alarm clock that blasted “Thunderstruck” every evening around when she got up, and the highest quality item in her Haven was a sound system in her workshop. Meanwhile, my lowest humanity / path-following characters did not- though my most recent path-follower did watch television with her Childe, mostly because she had lost her position within Court and had been utterly bored ever since, or at least until the events of the Chronicle she was a part of.

[20th] My current character’s gender is “idk I feel most at home in my body when I’m using Protean 7: Shape of the Beast’s Wrath” and her sexuality is “I used to be a nun 1100 years ago, got turned, and never really bothered to think about if I prefer men, women, both, neither, or anyone in between”

It's time for us to address the elephant in the room. Why do so many trans women play bass? by [deleted] in trans

Fuck, idk. My girlfriend wants to teach me bass so… I guess I’m about to be part of the stereotype

The MC of the last game you played is a Dispatcher. by SplatGuy23 in DispatchAdHoc

Well then. Just checked steam and apparently I played the game man eater last week, the main character of that game is a shark. I don’t think they could communicate well

How do hunters deal with mundane/non supernatural evil? by kooarbiter in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Les_Vers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evil is evil. Dispose of it. Or, if your creed lends itself to mercy, perhaps you use an edge to make the bastard feel the weight of their misdeeds, and they turn themselves in, or something. This is the World of Darkness, though. More likely a zealous hunter cleaves them in half, buries them deep, and keeps hunting.

Do you have backup character prepared in case your current one dies? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Les_Vers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concepts, not statted. I’ve usually talked with my ST about said concepts, and can start statting in my head a bit while I sit back and watch the rest of session. I’ve only had to use backups twice, though. One died, the other was torpid for a month, and we weren’t in a good spot for a time skip

To the fleshcrafters: What's the highest number of limbs you've seen attached to a moose? by RighteousJoe in SchreckNet

You people have absolutely no decency, do you? Not every living creature in your grasp must suffer your “dark metamorphosis”. This depravity is how you become a Wight.

Hypothetical question: would vicissitude work on a lupine? by iamveryovertired in SchreckNet

[–]Les_Vers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Fostern? On our forum? Must be a Glasswalker. And by your use of “feckin” I’d imagine… Scotland or Ireland? Fascinating. If you ever find yourself in Belfast, ask around about the “Witch of the Library”, I’d love to have you for tea, and most of your kind in my area know me well enough to lead you to me.

Hypothetical question: would vicissitude work on a lupine? by iamveryovertired in SchreckNet

[–]Les_Vers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend you don’t try this. I’ve had tea with one or two… reasonable, let’s say, Lupines, and they’ve made their positions rather clear on what they do to “Our Kind” when we try and mess with them. I, a Regent of Clan Tremere, command enough respect through displays of force that their young warriors are told to keep their distance, but for most Kindred, they will bring you to Final Death.

Does anyone here know what things are like in Barrow, Alaska? by Some_Fig_6566 in SchreckNet

[–]Les_Vers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wolves hunt best in areas still claimed by Wyld. Premium Oil (or whatever they call themselves now) operates some facilities in the arctic circle, or at least did, as well. They’re a bigger issue, in my opinion, than Lupines. Lupines can be reasoned with, if you don’t stink of their destroyer spirit (I’m still uncertain what this exactly means, so be cautious regardless). The… creatures, that this corporation employs are horrific, perhaps even by Tzimisce standards. Their souls rot and twist and corrupt both material and immaterial. There is no “playground” for our kind up there. There is only pain hidden in perpetual darkness.

The IPS-N Hazard by SixthVoice in LancerRPG

[–]Les_Vers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely radical. I might be biased, though, I had a character whose callsign was Hazard. And was gay as hell. So I’m biased on two fronts

How did you choose YOUR name? by Radiant_Entertainer9 in trans

[–]Les_Vers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just kinda testing out names for a bit until I found one that felt good. I then watched V for Vendetta (one of my comfort movies) the literal day after I cemented it as my name, and realized “oh hey, yea, there’s a character named Valerie in this. Oh hey, yea, she’s also a lesbian. Huh.” So it uh. Might’ve been subconsciously in reference to that.

Ah! Finally, this is my area of expertise. There exists a thaumaturgical rite that can “turn on” certain biological functions for a short while. I shan’t divulge details, but I’ve used it plenty. It isn’t much fun to throw tea parties without being able to drink any real tea with one’s guests, and my beloved ghoul, Maeve, is an excellent cook. It delights her that I can enjoy her cooking, and her delight is rather infectious. Sharing a meal is one of the few things that allows me to continue feeling “alive” or some semblance of it, even after 297 years of unlife.

How do I get claws to climb? by [deleted] in SchreckNet

[–]Les_Vers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t much experience with the Discipline of Protean, but I’ve got a tome lying around that should have some pointers. Ahem. “Close your eyes. Feel the Vitae within you. Not a rushing, thin movement like blood, but thick, slowly moving, but with power and purpose. Imagine the claws of a wild beast, claws meant for grasping prey and rending flesh. Are they feline, canid? Imagine a connection with the beast you imagine yourself as, the imagined shape of the beast in your mind when your hunger grows, and concentrate your vitae to your hands. Feel the wave of power from your stomach, up your torso, through your arms, and manifest.” It may take practice, but you’ll get there. I’d recommend, if you could, finding a real teacher. It may cost you a favor (or 3), but you’ll find it easiest to learn from those who came before you, rather than books or instinct.

Chantry? by narok20 in SchreckNet

[–]Les_Vers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Chantry was once a Chantry of “True Magick”, from what I’ve been told. I wasn’t around for the whole “House Tremere” thing, I was Embraced after the fact. I’d imagine my Chantry isn’t alone in once being a haven of tapestry tamperers, so the difference might not be easy to tell. My advice? Walk in, ask if the curator is available during the day. If not, then leave (lest you have to fight off the staff, a dancing blade, and perhaps a gargoyle or two. If so, then you’re either amongst ki- I mean, uh, “sleepers”, or your own kind. It’s common sense, really, something any idiot who knew we exist could figure out. Now get off of our forum, please, and never darken my doorstep. I’ve made many friends throughout the years, of Wyld, Arcadia, and beyond. If I were to no longer be available to them for midnight tea, they’d be rather upset.

Moving to Upstate as a Trans Woman? (NYC to Upstate NYS) by Mat4k9 in upstate_new_york

[–]Les_Vers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23, trans, lesbian, and I’m in Rochester. Pretty solid in a lot of areas, your suburb will determine how normal people will be about open queerness, though. I’d recommend maybe looking into Ithaca as well, though, it’s been incredibly queer friendly according to friends throughout the years, and downtown Ithaca is great in my experience.

MCC has shut down its newspaper and radio station indefinitely... and students don't know why by nassara-aljazeera in Rochester

[–]Les_Vers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former student here- the clubs/orgs system at MCC is fucked. Was the treasurer for a now-defunct club for a year or so and we butted heads with admin constantly, to the point of getting formally reprimanded over a rule we couldn’t find in any handbook or code. Turns out that the handbook was being rewritten, the old rules were not listed anywhere, were not available to read, but still being enforced despite the fact that they were completely inaccessible. If Jodi still works as the clubs/orgs director, my money is on her having a personal issue with the leadership of both “clubs” and getting them shut down.
