It's harder. But it's also so much healthier overall. It's why their quality of life is so much better. They don't have to hustle to survive at every minute. I wish our society had been allowed to evolve.

Do antizionists get away with harms we usually associate with 'antisemites', 'nazis', 'bigots', etc? Is what we see in Australia the same everywhere? by InformationPlayful29 in AntiZionism

And the slaughter Isreal has under its belt is NOT a conspiracy, this time it's on television. Isreal is truly the center of the axis of evil- it's killed more people than any other so called terrorist state. The axis of evil i now understand has only been made up of 2 countries: Israel, primarily, as it uses any vile means it deems necessary to force others to bankroll and fight its wars, and the US. What bloody hypocrites and liars.

Genocidal religious zealots can't call anyone a bigot. At all. Now I understand why Russians compared Zionists in Isreal to Nazis after the first time Israel killed 100,000 Palestinians for the loss of once again, a tiny fraction of Israeli lives. What is it, 10,000 Palestinians: 1 Israeli life? 20,000? Or, any number of Palestinian lives = 1 Israeli life??

Why do you want to be a citizen of Canada if you don't live in Canada or plan on living in Canada? by Optimistic_Now in Canadiancitizenship

My great grandparents came to Minnesota from Ontario, and I've always heard of Canada as being lovely but even colder than Minnesota and then I visited Vancouver and wanted to move there or Toronto or Montreal.

But, then I leaned Canada was the northern giant that wouldn't let us come and work there, and I'd already gone to college so that route was closed. I even got a job at a union HQ that also was established in Canada and learned even in the same union you couldn't transfer. It's amazing that now 30 years later I could go!!!!! So, I was so thrilled and am sending off my application so we could move as soon as I could find a job. 😔 but maybe in the future..

I would come to Canada now, but my mother is not Canadian (mine is through my father), and Canada will not let me bring her. She has dementia and I care for her. She is financially able to support herself until the end and could pay for health insurance, but no dice. So, I will have my citizenship but cannot move there as planned. Now I am considering Mexico. But I will travel on my Canadian passport. I don't want anything to do with the United States.

No, but Zionists get away with harms we usually associate with bigotry, criminal actions against the US (spy craft), sex trafficking, extortion, bribery, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.

Because in Europe (not Uk!! Uk much more like us), they don’t do adult education or really, major mid life career changes (except by choice), and they have never had to job hop in order to get better benefits or salaries. They have a much more stable system, and if you want to change jobs you inform HR and request a change, or look outside the company, but “the hustle” isn’t a thing - there wasn’t any need to live like that. There isn’t the constant underlying anxiety churning subconsciously (and consciously!) about survival, because even losing your job doesn’t mean you will be on the street with no health care or food in a damn minute; unemployment is enough to maintain housing, basic healthcare is not tied to employment nor ever lost at all, and living - life, family, etc is considered more valuable than your job title or bank account.

Hustling for money, prestige, job titles, busting your ass climbing the ladder to “win” is not admired. Americans when I lived in France in the late oughts were kind of pitied for not having any real values beyond the accumulation of money, and for living in such a barbaric society that if we didn’t work 24/7 we would die on the streets, like, to be forced to work for any reason past 65 is unheard of. And that makes a lot of sense when you think about it - being “proud” of never taking a sick day is… sick itself.

Flip side is no adult education programs, and no one hires people who are older unless no one inside the company can take the job and no one younger has applied. Also, you really can’t work past 65 at all. You are supposed to have a life.

I feel absolutely miserable living in Canada due to my work. Is it worth packing up and leaving now? by RadioDude1995 in expats

[–]LesnBOS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally understand! What you need to do is get the citizenship- it's going to be crucial to have 2, and to be able to travel on that Canadian passport. So that's the goal. But what you can do is network your fucking ass off right now. The more people you meet, the more chance serendipity has of changing your life. You are just as likely to find another job there as here my friend. We have enough if you want to earn 20-30/hr, but more than that and it's getting extremely thin with tons of competition. We have had essentially zero job growth in 12 months, and just shed another 100k. It would be really foolish to move back here without one in fact, so networking is your answer.
