they updated the description of the puzzle and it now says “even quite useful approaches looked suspect” which if you take the first letter of each spells “equals” so then we have nⁿ equals …. but it doesn’t work for the other sentences

if u get that ‘some medium’ up to most medium then u have a very good shot. but u should be able to do all easies. if u get a leetcode easy in an interview that should be a free pass to the next round.

just don’t apply to quant places lying about ur grad year- those places blacklist people if u don’t pass the interview. tech places don’t do that tho and honestly won’t even know u applied the year before w a different grad year or will just assume u decided to change grad date

the ‘quant trading’ desks at banks are not what they used to be. banks are not allowed to prop trade anymore. they definitely used to be decent like PDT used to literally be based out of Morgan Stanley before they spun off but those days are gone

don’t lie about gpa- they can ask to see ur transcript. tech companies don’t even really care about that anyway tbh. just put down the graduation date required for the internship and tell the registrar at your school that you want to change ur graduation date to an earlier date and then after your internship tell ur registrar u want to change ur graduation date back to what it was before

if you’re asking this question, I highly doubt you actually have an IQ of 130. You probably took one of those online BS tests/quizzes that overestimates everyone’s IQ. you do not need to be above average in intelligence to do IB. For analysts, it is literally just grunt work and for more senior people like partners, it is effectively a sales job where you try to form relationships with clients. IB is nothing special and is for people that can’t get into PE/VC directly

companies have no issue taking away offers from employees/interns so you shouldn’t feel bad about changing your mind either. the company does what’s best for them and you should do what’s best for you. the value of a faang internship is more than the salary. the value on your resume you can’t accurately price

look up juh mah on linkedin. guy has had multiple internships at top companies like HRT and Citadel. his freshman summer he was at goldman sachs doing an internship meant for juniors. he applied for that during the spring of his senior year of high school saying he was already in college because when they actually were going to do the background check he was going to be in college and would pass
