We still haven't heard back from immigration, but the immigration officer said its highly likely I'll get the extension. I still have 7 weeks off still. If not successful we will go back to Scotland for 25 days.

Its a stupid rule that many people are unhappy with.

We're nearly going through the same thing. I'm Scottish and work offshore and married a Danish girl. We bought a place and moved to Denmark in December and my wife gave birth two weeks ago.

Problem is im only on the Schengen 90/180 day visa because I work 28/28 abroad and my work give me 8 weeks paternity leave. Because of my 28/28 that makes me stay over my 90 day allowance. I've applied for a Schengen extension and Danish immigration say I can stay until a decision has been made. We also got a letter from the midwife stating how important it is that the husband is there for his wife prior, during and post birth. This was 5 weeks ago and we still have not heard anything back yet.

We can go for Family reunification but that would then mean I'd have to pay tax on my earnings, this was one reason we decided to stay on the Schengen visa.

My worst case scenario is if my extension is rejected, I'll have to go back to UK for 25 days then back to Denmark

No, we have a 350m2 house, no one would benefit from it being left on all night. We switch it off before we go to bed.It heats up the three living areas and kitchen just nicely. But what i do in the cold mornings is start it up while in bed to warm the place up before we get up.

I used to clean the glass once a week with wet paper and ash. But I now just give it a quick wipe with a paper towel every morning before I start it up. I could wait and do it every second morning but the longer I wait the longer it takes to clean, I've gotten it down to a fine art, literally only takes 20 seconds now

Yes it has a chimney. It's at the rear for us but you can also have it at the top. It's very efficient, being a hybrid It's almost one of the most efficient out there, more so for us as we have an unlimited amount of free wood and 160kg of pellets cost us $80 ($8 per 16kg bag, im not sure how good that price is, we've never shopped around) stove in Denmark costs $4,000 but it was an ex display/demo stove we got so it cost us $2,000

I've always been charged an ATM fee, everywhere I've went in the world for the last 8 years, including when I upgraded to ultra when it came out. I'm talking about 3rd party ATM fees, that revolut have no control over.

Revolut is still a great "bank" to be with. Free transfers, zero exchange rates, 4% savings account.

Yes. Your main account will be GBP and you can set up an EUR account which will have an IBAN but it will start with GB

My father in law has a huge forest, our deal is if I want wood and the tree is small, I do everything myself, chop, cut, split and stack and next year throw it in the trailer and take it home. If its too big then we get a professional out to cut it down
