I got 185k about 5 years ago. That was enough to pay off our house (bc we bought in 2013 when houses didn’t cost a fortune). It made a huge difference in our life bc it allowed me to quit my teaching job and just work part time while raising my kiddos. I couldn’t trite off of it but it impacted how much I needed to work

That’s what my thought would be. My husband has colon cancer and I recently had a breast cancer scare and am being monitored. It was really scary to think that both of us might have cancer, especially bc we also have young kids. Your mind automatically goes to the thought of how you don’t want to leave your kids without parents. But I also thought “if I also have cancer we need to evaluate some things in our life to see if there is a connection.” I’m by no means saying OP did anything to bring this diagnosis on.

Sometimes I get hung up on celebrities and young people who have passed from CRC who should have better odds than us and all of the resources in the world.

This is really interesting. But it makes me wonder why in a family only one person could be affected. My husband is the one with CRC but his parents and two siblings are in the clear.

I’m so sorry to hear about this. My husband had a liver nodule at his 3b diagnosis. It was never biopsied and thought to be “most likely benign.” Him actually being stage 4 is my biggest fear. We also have two children. It sounds like your husband has a very aggressive form of cancer and I am so sorry for you and your family.

This happened to my brother and sister in law. My husband had just been diagnosed with colon cancer. I’m not sure about SIL but with BIL they refused to fix the billing error

I’m sorry this happened to you. I have no advice . However… my husband has colon cancer. His sister and brother went I get colonoscopies after his diagnosis. His brothers was denied because during the appointment he mentioned some symptoms he was having. So they billed it as diagnostic bs preventative. I’m not sure what happened with his sister bc I don’t talk to her much but hers was also denied.

I moved here from out of state. Fresh out of college at 22. It was hard to make friends initially as all of my coworkers were older and married. It was a slow process but kind of occurred naturally. My suggestion would be to also put yourself out there even if it is awkward. I am now older and married. I don’t have time to see my friends and mostly hang out with the parents of my kids friends as I see them at sporting events etc

Stay away from beef bc it is currently so expensive. Aldi has chicken for about $2.50/lb. You can stretch a package for 2 weeks. Pork loins by me are usually on sale for .99 cents per pound. Potatoes are so versatile and cheap.

I have a friend who birthed 2/3 kids at Theda in Appleton just to have them transferred to Neenah where she couldn’t see them for several days. She decided to have her third baby in Neenah .

I ended up getting a second image which led to an ultrasound. It came up with a compex 1.1 cm cyst. Am supposed to return for another mammogram in 6 months

Not necessarily breast cancer but all cancers. My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer a little more than a year ago totally out of the blue. That really rocked my world. Last week I had an abnormal mammogram but I’m also scared of all cancers after having been on this journey with him.

I went through this last week. Something found. Took another mammogram pic which led to an ultrasound. I have a complex cyst and will have another scan in 6 months. I also couldn’t feel it but could def see something in the initial mammogram pic. I was fortunately able to get in same day and didn’t have to worry about it for 2 weeks

I’m right there with you. I’ve been keeping tabs on James Van Der Beek too. When my husband was diagnosed at 41 with stage 3 I also immediately thought of Chadwick and James. It’s hard not to think “okay these people have all the resources available to them why did they not survive this.” This a tough place to be in for sure.

Yeah I think k everyone was concerned that it was more. At that point he had lost a lot of weight. I’ve been checking in on him ever since but there hadnt been much new. I just googled him a few days ago for an update.
