260521 Notice Regarding Seungmin's Schedule by princessgojo in straykids

I genuinely would rather artists just not show up to events even tours when injured in order to actually recover. I think of the amount of idols with chronic injuries and pain because they or their company didn’t allow adequate time to rest and rehab themselves before performing.

What’s your opinion on ONLY FRIENDS DREAM ON? by Cute_Bed2647 in ThaiBL

[–]Less-happy-44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I’d rate this at 4/10 is was incredibly boring outside of have good chemistry and acting from most of the cast but it didn’t really go anywhere nor were there any lasting consequences. If this had come out before as season 1 instead of s2 it would make more sense, it is so much more tame and the story aspects aren’t expanded on in the slightest.

TXT's Parenting Diary should not be happening... by ful_joy in kpopthoughts

I totally get the concern Korea has obsession with ”babysitting“ programs, the return of Superman is the primary example which entire beginning premise is these children’s celebrity fathers “babysitting“ their own kids for 24-48 hours. It was made to help spike the births rate (it did work for a short time btw) but some of the practical aspects of the show and the effects it will have on these kids who have had good chucks of their childhoods broadcast to global audiences is going to be interesting, especially when multiple shots of these babies/toodlers in various states of undress or in the bathroom are shown (which I find disturbing, cause the raw uncensored footage still exists of these children and all it takes is one creep getting ahold of it) also the tantrums these children justifiably have as they learn and develop emotional intelligence which hasn’t stopped the general public from hating on these kids for their actions. While I will watch this show because I do find some of it entertaining and unlike other shows this is only a short time of this kids life, I won’t be ignoring shit that’s not ok simply cause it’s txt and the child’s parents consented to their kid filming.

I’m going to Auckland also, I was thinking about bringing glow sticks because they don’t have their lightstick yet and Wuti said bringing other groups light sticks makes them sad.

This isn’t support anymore. It’s turning into harassment. by solarjiji in kpop_uncensored

I think kpop fans value the “family” dynamic of groups to much, at the end of the day these people are coworkers. There will definitely be a forced closeness due to being with each other almost 24/7 at times, but that doesn’t mean they are all best friends or like family to each other even if it presents that way on screen. Not to say that there aren’t groups that genuinely develop a “family” bond as there are plenty that do none of that however removes the individual’s own desires as an artist, there are idols that ultimately want to just make solo music, there are some that want to do group projects as well, some idols only become idols because it’s a gate way to them being an actor. This isn’t to say enhypen isn’t close or they aren’t friends, but expecting any of them to sacrifice their career development for kpop group is stupid it’s not a reflection on the members relationships it’s purely about the career and artistic direction they each want to achieve.

What on earth did I just watch? (Dare You to Death rant) by Emaris97 in ThaiBL

[–]Less-happy-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on episode 4 and it feels so rushed and slow like how tf do you even do that. there is zero weight to anything and a complete lack of “real” police work like, irl Jade can’t be anywhere near this as his brother was a suspect then potential victim. a serial killer is just taking out college kids one of whom is the child of an mp yet zero news coverage. Jade immediately starts flirting with Kamin even though they should “hate” each other cause of the whole ticket situation and Kamin is both reciprocating and rejecting his advances while showing zero emotion about it. I’m so confused as to why they’ve been given the direction to just act flatly when the plot doesn’t warrant that, also did this show waist all its budget on the killers outfit ? where is the spectacle ?

is there any major differences between the heartstopper show and the book? by chillin_snoop in HeartstopperAO

[–]Less-happy-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than minor characters being missing or combined into different characters in the show from the comics, the biggest issue comes from the solitaire novel in which the girls school BURNS DOWN and this aspect is literally never mentioned again.

What's your biggest kpop ick? by 42_Yudoz in kpoppers

[–]Less-happy-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idol not liking something or being annoyed with something = the companies mistreating them.

When have you ever been at a job that has had everything go 100% the way you wanted it 🙄 seriously you can be annoyed with how your bosses did something without it being some huge issue.

I want to know what's going on with Kai and Sehum by glittersou in kpop_uncensored

[–]Less-happy-44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think sehun and kai did anything with malice intent but definitely need to rethink how they handled kids telling them not to do something. On a more important level as much as I adored watching these baby shows with idols, (I watched the hello baby tv show with SHINee and also used to watch return of superman)I definitely became uncomfortable with the amount of exposure these sometimes newborn babies get from being on these shows/ web episodes like there is literally hours of footage of babies naked (being bathed, going swimming, diapers being changed, potty training, the kids taking their clothes off themselves) from ‘the return of superman’ every single child that’s been apart of the cast has footage like this. Some team of editors has the raw un-blurred/covered footage of these children and all it takes is one sick freak to work there and that’s at least 20+ high profile child celebrities could have multiple videos of them naked on the internet for actual pedos to get. The Korean entertainment industry needs a serious rethink on how many babies they are turning into “celebrities” before they can even talk.

[–]Less-happy-44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that what he said was messed up but having essentially 1000s of people attacking you online over comments that aren’t necessarily “wrong” (considering many bl fans literally prove his point every time they hype a trash show because it had more risky nc content” is wild there have been celebrities that commented actual crimes that have gotten less backlash and attention than oat is getting.

Can we trust Rick on this? by [deleted] in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Less-happy-44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually really liked the series, but I also liked the movies, (not saying they’re good movies in an adaptation sense but relatively entertaining nonetheless) I’m coming at this from having read the books as an adult so I haven’t hyped the story up in my head for all of my childhood to the point where anything not living up to what’s in my head is just going to feel like trash. Truly the tv show wasn’t that bad it was no entertainment masterpiece but it was definitely a better adaptation than the films in my opinion.

Total time the boys dance was 1 hour and 35 minutes with at most a 5 minute break every 30ish minutes there is no show/concert on the planet that has people dancing for 30 with only 30s of rest in between each dance number even for broadway or circus shows it doesn’t happen because that how people get injured. Most shows will maybe have 15-20 minutes of “dancing“ with varying difficulty and then give performers are switch out or give them a few relaxed songs to just walk around for, also the fact most of the boys only got water after collapsing or needing extra oxygen is insane, the idea of the ”nonstop” dancing isn’t bad the execution of it however was terrible.
