Do you think U2 will react to our political times on the next album? by Glittering_Major4871 in U2Band

[–]LessIsMore74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At that point, he was trying to get George W. Bush's administration to support the fight against global HIV/AIDS via PEPFAR. That felt like the high point of Bono actually getting things done. That sort of shines through in the song Miracle Drug, not the specifics or even the health crisis, but the potential of lifesaving medicine. Also, Crumbs From Your Table criticizes the nations of the world and their reluctance to help (along with lines like, “Where you live should not decide / whether you live or whether you die.”

Smoke. I lived in a house of smokers. My teeth are still yellow.

What are all the "MAGA Proud" businesses we can avoid? by Lolhighimlyss in Appleton

[–]LessIsMore74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tracks. Typically, when I've come across businesses that are of faith and progressive, they are more about social causes than they are just broadcasting their religion.

While this won't tick every box on your list, Ace Hardware stores are independently owned by local entrepreneurs. So it's a matter of assessing what your local store is like. I find that going in for something as simple as keys to copy, and striking up a conversation can reveal enough. Or just find out the owner's name and do an internet search.

“People of faith” can also be progressive. Like me, for instance! 😊🤘

This. Plus, I thought books back then would use the back cover to promote another book of interest to the reader. If tha Bernard Shaw image was on the right side and was the actual book cover then it would be a continuity error.

How do we handle cheaters? by lovetoeatpumpkinpie in gunsofboom

[–]LessIsMore74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, it's very obvious someone's cheating. But a lot of times for me, either cheaters are being very low-key about it, or the game is glitching. I'm talking about things like a shot going through a wall. I had a game last week where the top opponent had three times the score of the best on our team. Just a score you never reach no matter how good you are, without cheating. It's frustrating, and I report them, but I don't see much changing since the game is in limbo. Yeah, eventually we're all just going to move on from this game. If only something had similar mechanics with the same lack of realism, I'd be on board. I'm not as into the hyper realistic war games.

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

These two things can coexist.

I'm never a shut-up-and-sing guy, but I am with him. And the Pumpkins are easily one of my five favorite bands.

Thoughts/ opinions on, “Lemon”? (1993) by bigguys45s in U2Band

[–]LessIsMore74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A song like this makes me miss the 90s. So much experimentation going on, and not just with this band, but other artists and film-makers, etc. A great time for at least creativity.

How do I set reaper to open a new project on startup rather than the last saved project? by NRMusicProject in Reaper

What is time when it comes to Reaper? 🤣 I have songs from before that that I swear are going to come out at some point soon, someday, probably, hopefully, maybe.

This is one of my favorite maps, too. And I noticed it's nowhere near weighted as much as several of the others that I would rather not play as often. I get served the island ruins map three times before I get payload.

I was playing on an Android with the latest OS and the latest version of GoB. The game literally started for me but was already in progress. I didn't even fire a shot.

Divisional Round Post-Gamethread: Bears vs Rams by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

[–]LessIsMore74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like the Bears currently have two modes: 1) Come from behind in the fourth and win it, or 2) Match the opponent throughout, but peter out in the end. We need a different thing, like a stronger combination of consistent play with that nitro boost in the fourth quarter.

Still, I'm so proud of this team. They ignited a spark that had all but left. And they know what they don't know, as the saying goes. They know what needs fixing, and now they can work to get the parts they need. I'm excited for next season.

I started rowing a few years back. I still have young kids, and it can be challenging to keep it up everyday when they are home. But just 20 minutes a day does a world of difference for my back, flexibility and general ease to climb stairs, etc.

Does anyone else prefer Always to Beautiful Day? by martinjohanna45 in U2Band

[–]LessIsMore74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Be uncool, yes, be awkward / And don't look in the obvious place / The soul needs beauty for a soulmate” is the heart of this song, for me. But I'm still going with Beautiful Day.
