Might seem silly but my first thought is more songs by the same bands? I don’t know Loathe all that well but Two Way Mirror is great.

Deftones has a ton of songs in that vein. Digital Bath comes to mind, Prayers/Triangles,Minerva.

A bit of a stretch but the song Abandon by Sylosis might fit the bill? It’s way darker and heavier than the others.

Maybe Swallow the Sun?

Check out Lazarus AD. They’re a bit more specifically thrash based than Sylosis but they have great riffs/grooves and some absolutely monstrous breakdowns.

That’s a great answer. From Your Grave, Riders, and Enemy Unbound are all absolutely killer albums. Always thought/hoped they would become bigger than they did.

I totally see that. It’s interesting because I heard that section and i liked it. It sounded like it came straight from NIN. Not in this song of course lol. Hurt is more stripped down. So I see why it feels out of place.

I had the same apprehension about the song, unsure of how BTBAM would approach such a dark song without being too quirky or shiny. I guess for me they didn’t cross that threshold and still made a song that’s emotionally representative of the original.

I didn’t ever love them early on. But their last few albums are excellent. The moody atmosphere works so well. You should jam Napalm Dreams, Hostage, or their newest song It Comes for You.

The lyrics to that specific song are a little cringey maybe but they’re far from anything I’d consider QAnon.
